How do you streamline your work in Logos? ie-  What Collections work best for you?

I have many Collections and they are a huge help. Today I had an idea for a new one and would like some input on this one and would also like to hear about some of the Collection ideas that you find most helpful in your work.

Earlier, I made a Collection I call "A Quick Look".

My thinking: whenever I study a topic, I can quickly generate lists of Scriptures on that subject by searching this Collection.

It consists of 7 resources: Collins Thesaurus of the Bible, New Naves, Vines Expository...Topic Finder, MacArthur Topical Bible, The ThematicBible: Topical Analysis, Zondervans Dictionary of Bible Themes and M-W Collegiate Thesausus. (Can you suggest others?)

TIP - I tried this once and it seemed to work pretty well: Type a word into the Mirriam-Webster Collegiate Thesaurus and copy a group of synonyms into the search box - with A Quick Look selected as the Collection in which to search. I like getting quick access to piles of Scripture. (I know Logos can do this a number of other ways, but this is something that gives me some more control. I don't know if Logos is more / or less comprehensive in their approach, so for now ...)

Any other Collection ideas?

I have have collections and set them up in my custom passage guide.

My collections that I do this with are:

 

• Journals (I also have a few of my favorite journals broken out into individual collections and added to passage guide)

• Favorite authors (this is a collection for authors who write expository sermons/texts on a passage that would be good to interact with: Spurgeon, Baxter, Piper, Ryle, Bridges; these and some other authors have their own individual collections inserted into passage guide as well)
• Favorite commentaries
• Counseling (good pastoral counseling references for application to myself and my ministry)
• Systematic Theologies

 

I am then able to quickly see all references to the passages I'm studying within each subset of texts. I can also take notes within the passage guide on which resources are particularly helpful along with summaries for reference when I come back to this passage in the future.
