I am at a place where i wand to build a search collection to use with templets. How can I delete what is there at this time so I can start fresh?
Are you asking how you can delete existing collections? Or how you can start with a clean slate in the Collections tab to create a new collection?
If the former, click the Open button in the Collections tab to drop down the menu listing existing collections. Right-click on any you want to delete and choose Delete.
If the latter, just click the New button and it will start you off with a fresh (empty) collection named "Unnamed Collection" (you can edit that text to name it whatever you like).

Yes, it was exceedingly difficult and non-intuitive, even though I was the one who documented the old method of doing it before the website upgrade. But I'm going to have to update the documentation on the wiki, because it's based on the old site.
I still haven't gotten an answer on how to delete from this box that holds what collections have been put in them. Help
I'm afraid that's probably because we don't understand your question. There's too many things you could be referring to. Please be more specific about what you want to do. A screen shot would also help.
I bought Proctors live seminar video I want to build my own guide and want to add collections to it. when I open the collections box there is many things in it and they are in no order at all. I would like to be able to delete some collections from the search box and put in others and than organize the search box. Thanks

If I understand you correctly, Rosie told you how to do that 10 minutes after you posted your original post. Are we missing something?
By the way, that "box" is usually called a dropdown. [;)] "Box" is usually used about the place where you type e g a Bible reference, or a word you want to search for. This is one of the reasons we were so confused.
Not sure what you mean by "no order at all" (unless it's a Mac bug--I'm using Windows). The collections should be listed alphabetically:
Those are all the possible collections. Each collections section in the guide uses only the one collection that you select using this drop-down menu.
As Rosie described, you need to open the collections window if you want to delete collections from the list:
OK, Ronald. I think you're referring to the "Search in" dropdown menu in the Search Tab which shows you a list of your collections, among other things that can be used to restrict your search. They are not in "no order at all" -- there is some rhyme and reason in the order. Here, this might help:
First comes a list of all your Open Resources. These are in alphabetical order by title within the "Open Resources" section of the menu:
Then comes a list of all your Collections that you've created intentionally (you can get to them under Tools > Collections). These too are in alphabetical order within the "Collections" section of the menu:
Next is a section of auto-generated collections called "Tags and Ratings" -- these are listed with "mytag" first and "rating" second, with all your user-applied tags listed in alphabetical order, and ratings 1-5 listed in numerical order. This provides a quick way to limit your search to just the resources that have one tag or one rating:
Finally there's a section called "Series" which lists (in alphabetical order) all the series that you have in your library. Books like commentaries often come in series, and the series metadata will show up in the Series column in your Library. So by selecting one of the items from this section of the dropdown menu, you can limit a search to just the books in one of these series.
There is no way to delete things from that dropdown list. The list is auto-generated based on what resource you currently have open, what collections you have created, what tags you have applied to books in your library, and what series you own in your library. The only way, then, to reduce the number of things that shows up in this list would be to delete collections (which I explained how to do in my first answer and which Todd expanded on with graphics), or remove tags from your books.
You can, however, filter the list, so that it only shows things that match whatever you type into the Find box at the top of it. That is the way to simply your search for something to select in the list, so you don't have to scroll through all the irrelevant content.
