Odd Hebrew Question

Hope someone out there can help...
I need to know what the vowel pointing for the following word should be:
סרטון
It is, best as I can tell, the word for "Cancer", the zodiac symbol. I think I know the pointing for most of the word, but I can't tell if the first vowel is a long or short "a". Answering this may require going off the range, but it sure would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't help (know not the least bit of Hebrew), but was thinking: are there horoscopes in Hebrew language newspapers? And if there were, would they follow the western astrology? If so, you might just go over there and there it is!
(can't believe I'm actually posting this - in Germany they are nearly ubiquitous, not only in the yellow press but also in real newspapers, on the radio etc. and I detest them, I turn off the radio or switch stations everytime they read it)
Whether this helps, I don't know.

סִרְטוֹן is a short film. סַרְטָן is cancer sometimes vocalized (in the middle ages) as סַרְטוֹן. This last vocalization is considered anomalous nowadays.
I think the quantity of the vowel is irrelevant. The words are not attested in Biblical Hebrew. The first is from Modern Hebrew and the second is from Rabbinic Hebrew.
Edit: If you haven't already ordered http://www.logos.com/product/5262/dictionary-of-the-targumim-the-talmud-babli-and-yerushalmi-and-the-midrashic-literature then you should consider it. You would have found your answer there.

Yes, there probably would be horoscopes and such (in fact, I even found an Israeli horoscope and fortune-telling website), but the problem is that Israeli media almost universally print without niqquudh (vowel points). [^o)]

Thanks David for replying to my post, and for enlightening me with this information - I'd never have expected this.
