Will Bible Study Magazine be available in iOS 5's Newsstand?

I was reading up on iOS 5, coming out this fall, and noticed Newsstand - for magazine subscriptions.  So I was wondering if Bible Study Magazine will be available on the iPad through this?

Probably not - Apple would get a 30% cut. It would be nice to offer in Verso though.

Since the Bible Study Magazine is currently offered only as a paper magazine, not as an electronic resource (which is somehow very odd for Logos), you may well aquire one and put it into a Verso - see http://en.wikipedia.org/Verso - but obviously it would be nice to see it in Logos format, thus it could be bought either through Vyrso or through the Logos platform, which makes no difference.

Alabama, please don't mind me showing around your typo, but as an international customer it's simply frustrating to see the shiny ads for the magazine. Back issues are 2 EUROs, but shipping to Germany would be 12 EUROs (nevermind the four to six weeks it may take to get something shipped from the US). I just don't get it...

    Mick -

Sorry about the typo. I am glad you pointed out the meaning of "verso" however. Webster's defines it as "the side of a leaf (as of a manuscript) that is to be read second." I guess in Logos' mind Bible Study is "first" and trade books are "second." The variation of "verso" and "vyrso" must just be product differentiation.

I can empathize with you about not being able to get the magazine. Recently I had someone recommend a book by a British author. After searching, I discovered it was not printed in the U.S. What would have been a $5-$6 "dime novel" was more like $45-$50.

I will suggest to Logos that they offer Bible Study Magazine in a digital edition. It only makes sense.

I would so like that to happen (Logos provide BSM in a digital edition, not your recommendation ;) )

I searched the forum for threads on "Bible Study Magazine" and it seems we're not alone - but so far, Logos has decided not to make it available. Look into this thread, for example: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/15254.aspx  (and someone there references even older times where they begged Logos to provide it).

Maybe the "new times" with people becoming accustomed to reading magazines on e-readers, pads, tablets and smartphones will bring this about. Since Vyrso adresses less-scholarly-minded customers, maybe this is also the time for BSM in digital format.
