Link Panels?

In the iPad version of Vyrso, under the "View Settings" window, there is an option "Link Panels".  What does this do?  I have looked, but not been able to find a help file.  That would be a nice addition.  Thanks.

    When in the read mode, look at the extreme bottom corner for a grey spot.  If you don't see it tap the screen.  If you drag this arrow/semicircle spot to the center it splits the screen or you can just tap it.  If the link panels is on the two resources will be linked if possible.  For an example a Bible and a commentary on the same book.
