Not the actually Transition setting, I mean, the entire program (Windows, of course. Mac would never lag! ;-) )
When switching from one song to another, it's not a smooth fade. The video background skips and the fade from one lyric to the next is very jerky. That's what I meant by skipping.
The background looping issue is on both the Mac and PC.
We had the lag issue today during service. I had put our opening scripture reading up that we were reading together as a congregation. Three verses, one on each slide. The transition selector was unchecked (and set to "no transition").
We noticed a long lag time, maybe 1 second or so when the screen went black, going between slides. It was a bit awkward as it broke up the continuous feel of reading the entire passage.
It may be because we still run our old SSP software in another tab. We do that in case we have a Proclaim problem and need to quickly switch back to our old software. But SSP is a resource hog and maybe it's creating some of the lag issues for us in Proclaim. I can't replicate it now though with or without SSP running.
