Is anyone using signals? If so, what are you doing, how are they received?
Grace and peace,
Signals are broadcast when you go on air with your presentation. Currently Logos for iPhone is the only app that will receive signals. Signal support in Logos for Android is coming soon.
I have the free beta version and am having a problem getting the signal to send. I.E. I can't get my Logos iPhone app to pick it up.
I'm excited to hear that signals is coming to Android soon!
We've been using Proclaim over the last six services (Sunday am and pm).
The bible verse signals are automatically inserted into the presentations allowing people to follow along with the sermon via the Logos app on their iPhones. In addition, we have been running notices via the pre- and post-service loops. We have manually added the calendar details as signals allowing people to add the appointment directly to their iPhone calendar.
We have had positive feedback from those with iPhones and iPads... It's just that there are not that many of them. It is good news that The Android app is catching up. I would say, on balance, that the majority of the congregation are on Android.
Still, the concept is very promising.
You must also have your presentation set up with your current location in order for signals to be picked up by users. You can set your presentations' location by selecting the location drop-down menu:
The congregation members will also need to set their iPhone/iPods to use location services. In the Logos app you would select More > Settings > Follow Presentations.
Thanks,
