Text break or blank slide WITHIN a song

Hello. I am just wondering if there is a way to put a space between two lines within one slide of a song without it automatically creating "the next slide" ? I use this occasionally to separate what the men sing and what the women sing on some songs that break into separate parts at the same time. But every time I hit "enter" in the song text section it doesn't keep the text on the same slide.
The only work around I can find is to put a "." between the different sections so that it nearly looks like it is a line that is left blank. But to some obsessive compulsives, this small detail might drive them mad.
I also have the same issue in trying to just insert a completely blank slide within a song, say, between verses for a musical solo and I don't want any text on the screen but I still want the same background, and to stay within in the same song. The way the song text section automatically formats new slides, it doesn't seem to make a slide if there is nothing there So again, I've just been going with a single period to nearly simulate a blank slide.
Any workaround for this?
Thans for all you guys do! Love the software.

At this point it sounds like you've already hit on the best workaround for this issue.
Our developers are looking at ways to improve text breaking and display on Song slides, but you can always add your own suggestions at our Uservoice page: http://proclaim.uservoice.com/

Wonder about using other characters: e.g. no-break space (code 00A0), en space (code 2002), em space (code 2003), thin space (2009), or narrow no-break space (202F) ?
Using Word 2011 insert symbol, found many spaces in codes 2000 to 200F.
For a "blank" slide, wonder about using a smiling face (code 263A) character or eighth note (code 266A) ?

You can force a slide break by entering a line which consists of two hyphens. Two slide breaks in a row will leave a blank slide between them.
E.g., to produce three slides, with the middle one blank:
A verse

--
Another verse

Sweet, thanks. Great suggestions.

Has this issue ever been fixed? I have done a lot of Google'ing and I still can't find how to insert a blank line within the same slide. Thanks.

I was able to fix this issue by using the bar where the Verse 1, Chorus 1, Verse 2, etc is located. If the song is set up this way, then you can create a fake Chorus 3 with no lyrics underneath. Then use that chorus or verse (whichever you prefer) where you need to enter a blank slide.

you can actually type the word blank in that verse order to fill in a blank slide.
