Proclaim user groups online

My current user group for proclaim is open enrollment, and I want to change that.

It's too easy for someone to get into our churches account and mess with slides. It could potentially happen during a service and that seems like a huge security hole to me.

How can this be changed?

Dennis, as far as I know, a group is only open to those who are invited. The Group Administrator is the one who has rights to issue or refuse invitations.

When you purchase something (on-air license, a la carte media, Graceway content subscription) the group is automatically changed to moderated.

Your default settings defeat the purpose of having a "free" beta. For example, I could drive around town, find a church that is broadcasting, join their proclaim goup, and edit all their slides in the middle of their presentation.

In addition, I would be able to access CCLI/Songselect account information of other users.

This is a HUGE security issue that should have been caught and changed instantly, and should be fixed without having to make a purchase during a "free" beta period.

We did consider this situation, but it would require some coding, and introduce other complexities into the beta. The point of the beta is to test out the software, and while you can go live in a real service, we didn't expect that to be common enough that people would start war-driving churches Sunday morning to vandalize worship lyrics. :-)

We were more concerned about making it easy to evaluate with a group; if we allow moderation in free groups, then the first person (say, member of the worship team) who downloads Proclaim and creates a group with their local church name effectively "squats" on that name. Then if another team member wants to try -- even because the first person suggested it -- they download, try to connect to the church, and are "locked out" until person one gets back to their computer and approves them as a member.

So, since they're just testing it out, person two might be encouraged to just make some other random group for testing. Then one of the people buys a license, and now person a wants integrate their work in their temporary group into the "purchased" group person b is using, etc.

And who gets to "own" your church name and moderate the group, anyway? We figured the person willing to bring out the credit card first. :-)

Obviously the coding exists, as Scott pointed out, if I make a purchase, it is changed to a moderated group. You have chosen to not allow people to change their groups to moderated.

It's not really that hard for someone to approve people to join their groups, and since the point of this cloud based software is to be collaborative, their is no reason for people not to approve those they know.

I'm gladly willing to bring out a credit card once it's required, but once again, not during a "free" beta, just so I can keep by information secure.

When I run Proclaim on Sun mornings, besides my own presentation, their are two others that are brodcasting signals that I can receive. Whether or not you think a person will vandalize lyrics is not the point. If you want to sell a cloud based program, security should be one of your top concerns!

They can create/edit/delete presentations in your group.

You can use the groups management page to remove a user from your group.
