Purchased Logos4Mac, but cant activate - no serial number

have just purchased the Logos 4 Bible Study Library. The purchase was processed and I received an email with a link to how to download the product. I click on the link and it comes back to purchase summery page (which has no instructions on it). On the page is a link to download logos4mac (65.3Mb). I clicked this and downloaded logos4Mac. Once downloaded I dragged the icon into my applications folder and clicked to get started.

A box appears asking if I want to activate logos4mac and asking for a serial number. I was not sent a serial number and my order number does not work. how do I get started please?

The download size of 65.3 MB seems a bit small; wonder about downloading current stable Logos 4 Mac, then launch Logos 4 Mac, followed by sign in with your Logos.com credentials (email and password)

Hi, thanx for the advice and links, still smiling!. I watched the 1st installation clip and it seems as though what I have done so far is correct. After signing in a box still comes up asking for a serial number to activate (which I have not been given). I can choose to do this later and the "home page" for Logos opens up, but it does not start downloading the books and indexing as the video clip says. Do you know, should they have emailed me a serial number??

The serial number purpose is to associate resource license purchase with your Logos.com account. When Logos 4 is purchased at a conference, the installation CD includes a serial number so can login in Logos 4 then associate resource licenses with your Logos.com account.

Apologies: after upgrading to Logos 4 using Logos.com website, resource licences were associated with my Logos.com credentials so have not been prompted for a serial number.

Wonder if can view your Logos 4 order => https://www.logos.com/user/orders ?

If so, wonder if using same email address and password for Logos 4 Mac sign in ?

If so, suggest contacting Logos Customer Service => http://www.logos.com/about/contact on Monday (phone line opens at 6 am Pacific time)

Am aware Logos recently made some changes to their web site; not know if new orders have a resource license association issue (bug).

Hi again

Thanks for the advice & welcome to logos. I did email customer service who got back to me and said that when the activation panel appears to hold down the control key and click "activate later". Then to quit the program and restart it again. This time it should work normally. (no serial number required). I followed their instructions and it worked - sort of.

This time it signed in and went to "preparing library" as it's supposed to - But did not actually start downloading the resources as expected. I know it takes ann age - but after ages - still nothing has downloaded. So stuck again - just at a different point. haha Any advice will be appreciated.

Cant wait to start using it when it eventually works.

Wonder about enabling diagnostic logging ?

Option: download and use an applescipt application 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display logging setting, then change to enable logging.

Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac with terminal commands, which are used in applescript application.

With logging enabled, can open Logos4.log and Indexer.log files. Logos4.log may include resource comparison to queue files for downloading while Indexer.log has messages during downloads.

Alternative is calling Logos customer service or email to Logos Mac Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact

Would typing into the command bar "update now" and/or "update resources" and waiting for Logos to scan for your library licenses work?

I'm doing this right now to get the newest daily deal and 12 days deal to download on to my laptop.

Hi, thanks again for help. I decided to contact customer service again, but to this point all the checks that they have given me to do indicate that it should work. I am unfortunately still stuck with no library, but somewhere the problem will eventually get solved.

Would like to try the diagnostic logging, but looks rather complicated for my level of "expertise" or rather "non expertise".

When I command it to update resources it does look for resources and takes a little while looking for updates. But then says no updates found. I wander if the resources are somehow hidden or link to what I have purchased is missing on their end??

Will post if I get to solve the problem

I am concerned that Customer Services allowed your call to end with no resolution to this rather fundamental problem.

In your shoes I would be back onto them - suggest that they log into your computer remotely and stay there till the thing works.

Puzzling; would like to look at diagnostic logs files. Please download, then use => Logos Log Scribe to create a zip file of Logging folder on your desktop, then reply and attach zip file. Wiki Using the Forums => Adding a picture to a Post has screen shots showing paper clip in forum editor to attach a file (wiki example attached a screen shot).
