What is/how do I use the Slide Order function on a Song?
This feature is really great. It lets you present a song differently for different occasions without having to edit the original song file every time. For example, let's say you have a song that has the following:
Verse 1, Verse 2, Verse 3, Chorus, Bridge, Tag
Let's also say that this song is normally presented in this order:
Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, Verse 3, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus, Chorus, Tag
Before the inclusion of the Slide Order feature you would have to copy and paste each chorus into the correct position or have your presentation operator jump back and forth through the slides. This was particularly challenging if you wanted to skip verse 3 on a given Sunday. Your options were to either delete verse 3 from the song or make sure to tell your operator to skip over it during the service. Now however, you can use the Slide Order field to customize your presentation order. So, in our example, a normal week would have a Slide Order like this:
1, C, 2, C, 3, C, B, C, C, T
To present the following week without verse 3, I only need to edit the Slide Order field to read as follows:
1, C, 2, C, B, C, C, T
I didn't have to touch my main song file at all.
One last thing, if you have a part of a song that is oddly titled, like "Super Cool Chorus," you can add that to your slide order by putting the section title in brackets and then adding it to your slide order.
