We tested Proclaim on Dell PC with a 2.0GHz processor and 2GB RAM and had issues with the application not running smoothly. After testing many applications for presenting at our church, we decided it was time to purchase a new iMac for this purpose. This system came in this week with a 2.4 quad-core processor and 4GB RAM. It is being used for nothing but presenting. Today we tried to run Proclaim again, as we like the ideas surrounding this software, and it was a HUGE failure.
I built our entire service and during the week tested it several times. I also ran through it this morning before service specifically to test the video playback and for the first time connected the system to our sound system. We added a 3 minute promo video and testing it and everything seemed to work fine. Now bring in the actual service and problems arise. The application force closed three times, and we had several issues when changing songs with the new song not wanting to show up on the presentation monitor. We would just get a black screen.
I'm frustrated. I want to use Proclaim because of the cost involved and the collaboration features it gives. But if we cannot get a consistent run during service then we cannot use this. I'm forced next week to test a second application (probably pro-presenter or easyworship) along side Proclaim in case we have continued issues.
