Just wondering if presenters notes will be available on the ipad/android control app?
notes seem to be useless without ability to view as i present...just curious
iPad app with support for speaker notes is currently under development. It will be releasing very soon.
Hey Scott, January to August very soon? Sure would like to see this as a front burner issue. This is definitely a "need" option and not fluff for presentation software these days.
I agree. Presenter notes displayed on an iPad are needed. Won't be subscribing until this is a reality.
Thanks.
Hi Fred,
We do in fact support Notes view on the tablet version of Proclaim Remote now. We did experience a problem within the last few days where the incorrect version of the Remote was published to the App Store, but we are working on getting the correct version back up and published to the App Store as soon as possible. When the correct version is back up, you will see the additional views for iPad, which include Notes view, Full Screen view, and Text Only view.
The Android tablet version also has these views available.
Fred, the updated version of the iPad app has been published, so you should see the Notes view (and the other tablet views) once you update the app.
I love seeing the presenter's notes now available on the iPad and Android tablets. However, they are not as useful because they are not linked with the slides. It would be helpful if the notes for each slide were visible when the slide is showing, instead of all notes showing for every slide.
Mike, you're right. Notes are linked to a service item as a whole by design. We are looking at some additional features to allow you to separate notes on a group of slides by page or longer scrolling page in the remote app. Are you running into this issue when using your notes alongside a long Bible reference or possibly with a PowerPoint upload? Let me know and I may be able to suggest an easy way to match your notes up.
Hi Matthew,
Yes, I am using it with a Powerpoint upload. I was trying to control the presentation, and view the notes on a Kindle Fire HD.
two thoughts that make it awkward for me.
In the past I have used a powerpoint app which allowed me to swipe the slide and it changed, and my notes for that slide appeared automatically. One motion to change the slide and have the right notes showing. Then, if the notes were more than could fit on the screen, they scrolled smoothly, vertically so that thoughts were not broken apart. That seemed less awkward, and easier to use for a presentation.
just my 2cents
I am open to any suggestions. I like the concept of Proclaim, just not ready to commit to using it until I am comfortable with how it works. The feature of controlling it from an app is a major selling point for me.
You guys are doing great work!
We used Proclaim for the first time today. Had several issues with Signals not working...mostly user errors, I'm sure, but I think I read about a potential problem by going On Air then off, the On again.Anywho, trying to figure out how to get Presenter Notes going. Where do I add them? I assumed it would be Add Item then select Presenter Notes. I for, one, don't care if the notes work with one slide or sets of slides. Today's message included a video clip so I set it up with Sermon Set 1 (2 slides), Video (1 slide), Sermon Set 2 (10 slides), I'm sure there is an easier way, but we are just getting into it. This has come such a long way since the Alpha (I was one of the first testers for it).
I have been trying this morning to get this feature to work for me. I keep adding text to the Notes section (via copy and paste). I click sync and it synchronizes. I leave that slide (in edit mode) and go back to it only to see the notes are no longer there. I tried again and noticed before I even click sync the pop up shows all items are synced. Any thoughts? I'm going to try to type notes in and not copy/paste, but if that is how it works, no thanks! One other thought, about copy/paste I noticed the other day, if there is any formatting imbedded in the document (say you create a file in Word and utilize things like highlighting, bold, and so on), copy and paste your sermon notes/outline with scripture references and signals won't automatically pick them up. I had to copy paste to a text editor, convert to text only, then paste. This is fine for signals, but if I want to preach from MY notes (not congregation outline) it gets more difficult since I'm not using a manuscript. Does this make sense?
Hello David. I'm unable to reproduce the "disappearing notes" behavior you describe. Could you provide me with some more detailed steps so I can try to reproduce what you're describing? Also, which operating system are you on?
Sure. I created the sermon in Word 2011 (for Mac). I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8 on a 2 Core Intel Machine with 4GB of RAM. I create my outline in .docx. Highlight and Bold anything I need to bring out or anything on the screen. I then copied and pasted into the Notes section of my sermon title slide.
I finally got it to work when I added the Copy/Pasted text to TextEdit converted to plain text, then converted to RTF. Copied and Pasted and Notes worked fine.
I had to do the same thing for my Sermon Slide setup. I created my Sermon Outline I preach from as mentioned above. I copy and paste the whole document into a new docx file. Delete non-essential text add the separators ("--"). Only 2 of the 10 Signals showed up. I copied and pasted the same text to TextEdit, converted to plain text, converted to RTF, copied/pasted, and Proclaim worked beautifully!
I also created the sermon in doc this time (not docx). Still not sure what is going on? I'm thinking some type of macro or tabbing issue as I used a standard outline format, like this:
I TEST EDIT
a TEST EDIT
1.) TEST EDIT
2.) TEST EDIT
II TEST EDIT
Hope that helps some. (WAIT A SECOND, in my edit mode on this forum, the outline works but when I view it on the forum site as posted the outline is flat...)
David, I am following up with you via email.
