Song Select Linking Question

First off, I want to thank the developers, Proclaim is a great idea and very forward thinking, looking forward to using the software and watching it grow. I also really appreciate the rapid feedback here in the forum AND that there is ongoing development and incorporation of ideas!

I am trying to get the Song Select integration working, I can log into Song Select just fine, BUT Proclaim is rejecting my user and p/w when I try to link Proclaim to Song Select.

We have (currently) three users registered with Song Select, one of those users was able to get the integration working.

Questions:
1) Does Proclaim require each installation to be linked to the Song Select account? If the answer is NO, then there may be a bug?

2) If the answer to (1) is YES, then does the user need to be the same on ALL installations OR does Proclaim support multiple users on the same CCLI account during linking to Song Select?

That is odd. If you're able to log into Songselect.com with those credentials, there shouldn't be any problem using them in Proclaim. Have you contacted Songselect? We have had several users report that they were able to resolve similar issues with their help.

Each user who would need to search the Songselect database will have to have their own credentials, or use the same login. If one user in a group imports lyrics from Songselect then all users in that group can edit and use that song, but they will be unable to import lyrics themselves.

Multiple users can use the same Songselect credentials in Proclaim, but it's up to you to protect your username and password.

We have a number of users (four I think) with separate SongSelect accounts and each one of us had to wait 24 to 48 hours after the activation of the SongSelect account before it would link with Proclaim. In each case we were able to log into SongSelect via the CCLI account, but not the CCLI mobile site and not link with Proclaim. After 24/48 hours the issue resolved itself.

Other people have reported (in this forum) similar problems.

There is some further discussion on this thread,

    http://community.logos.com/forums/p/39803/297195.aspx#297195

Plus, half way down the page, there is a link to the mobile site. If you are unable to log into the mobile site, this will narrow the issue down to SongSelect (rather than Proclaim).

Thanks guys, I just tried it and was able to link Song Select to Proclaim, SO the waiting seems to work for the additional log in's!

    Very slick!

This was the same issue for me...it took hours of waiting (even when Proclaim instantly accepted the Song Select username and password and identified our church) for Proclaim to begin actually linking to songs and associated data.

It really through me at first - all of a sudden things started working.

I am inquiring with the song select team to see if this is a known issue. Thanks for your patience.

My problem is that when i go to link song select with proclaim a window comes up saying "Can't Connect To Host" what would be causing that? it works on my two computers at home but not on the one at the church here. Im using Mac computers with chrome as my default browser!

Can you browse to the page https://mobile.songselect.com/account/login using chrome?

    Dear Scott,

Apologies for butting in and I fully accept the situation may now have changed (you are better placed to know whether this is in fact the case).

As of early December 2011, the SongSelect website was not compatible with Chrome. More specifically, it was not possible to login or access some of the features of the website. I cannot confirm absolutely (I am on the Mac at the moment and do not have Chrome installed), but I recall that I was unable to login to the mobile site via Chrome.

I chased this up with SongSelect via email and then confirmed the compatibility issues with Chrome. Firefox and IE worked without a hitch.

Please accept my apologies and disregard this if situation has changed.

I did not know that. Seems to work for me currently.

Yes I can still use that site with Chrome and no problems. And like i said im running the exact same programs with all three computers and two of them seem to be able to link with song select no problems. But my computer at the church just keeps coming up wth that error message!

Just to make sure we're clear - you can view the mobile site w/ Chrome on the church machine?

Actually, I note that although the site does not support Chrome, it now states that 3.0 should probably work.

    Apologies for any confusion!

Correct, I can get on the mobile site with the church computer using chrome or firefox and then as soon as i go to account in Proclaim and go to link to my CCLI account is gives me the error message. I also have bootcamp installed on my computer and i have Proclaim on the windows side of things as well. Would that make a difference some how? I can link the account on the Windows side of the computer but for some reason it gives me the error message on the Mac side. Should i try delete it on the windows side and see if that makes any difference? thanks for the reply's!

I think i have it figured out now! I deleted it off the Windows side and the Mac side and just downloaded it again and reinstalled it and it seemed to link up fine! so hopefully i won't have any more trouble! thanks for all the tips!
