For those who preach and or teach using an iPad you might like this pulpit
Thanks for sharing that, Philana... Although I suspect I fall into the category, 'If you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it'.
I have been preaching with the iPad since November. We are currently demoing Proclaim which enables the preacher to control the presentation via an iOS device.

I don't thing the blogger looked at the manufacture's site very closely...I was able to find the price. Just can't remember it...I would check now, but I'm on my iPad and the site doesn't work very well on it. From what I remember it was within the same price range as other pulpits. I like the idea of that type of pulpit. I once taught a Wednesday night Bible study at church, I didn't use paper, just the iPad. I've never had my iPad fail...so I just make sure its charged.
One thing to keep in mind when using an iPad vs. paper...if the lights at your church go out from a power outage, or lights go out, you can still preach/teach with the iPad...your Bible and notes are still visible. If you are speaking outdoors your notes cannot be blown or Bible pages flipped by wind (saw a pastor who had an iPad have some problems speaking outdoors who used paper instead). Also with iOS 5 guestures switching between Bible, notes and even a book you want to quote from another reading app is very easy to do. Those are some pluses to going digital I've found.

Why would you take an iPad into the pulpit? All I take is the outline I give the people. Mine has the blanks filled in. Why would you need more than that? Here is what I will take in the pulpit for this weekends sermon. http://www.christ2rculture.com/resources/Sermons/Solomon-on-Sex/2---Solomon-on-Sex---Give-Me-a-Kiss---Sermon-Handout.pdf
So you don't have to print the outline and waist the paper. Since getting my iPad my printing has reduced so much I print about once a month.

How many of you preach from an iPad?
And the first time the iPad malfunctions is....
... a fun day when you are forced to rely totally on the power of the holy spirit and preach the way your seminary prof taught you.

You preach with notes?
I'm in the process of figuring that out.
You might enjoy reading Charles Koller "How To Preach Without Notes". Not in Logos though[:(]

With Logos's track record of coming soon I don't place much stock in it anymore. I believe the iPad will be announced first (probably march) and it wouldn't suprise me to see it ship in April still ahead of the Logos update that will fix syncing, notes and highlighting. I was also hoping for prayer lists to sync between Logos and iOS but at the rate it's going that will probably another year. Maybe intime for Logos 5 [:P]
I've become very frustrated and disappointed in this product over the last 6 months. The sync issue has been ongoing since at leats September. Almost 5 months now.

On 5 Jan 2012, Bob Pritchett (Logos CEO) posted a lengthy reply that included Sync v2 update => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/5923/321264.aspx#321264
Logos 4.5 Release Candidate 1 shipped today. If no major bugs, anticipating Logos 4.5 stable release next week along with mobile app updates, including iOS 2.0, but do not know if reading plan sync will be included. Looking forward to syncing Highlighting and Notes between Logos 4.5 and mobile apps very soon, perhaps later this month.
Keep Smiling

Yippee! I also saw the RC1 update! Unfortunately, I have already reported a bug. It doesn't look like a major one.
GO TEAM LOGOS!!!!!! We are rooting for you!

I've been with Logos for years and just started preaching from my ipad about two months ago. I carry a hardcopy just in case...lack of faith. But, am really feeling comfortable with the ipad. abit surprising how quick the adjustment.

Very excited, so far bugs I have seen mentioned on the forums are minor that look pretty easy to fix. I am hopeful by next week we will have notes and highlights (or next by the latest). Very excited to use these features!
Blessings!

Since the Logos app came first...and for now only to iOS, with the (potential) launch of iPad 3 on 7 March, I may finally break down and buy one. Highlighting in a lightweight form factor is that important to me--and if the resolution on the 3 is really 2,500x1,500-ish, I think the Logos app will really become useful.

I am buying an iPad 3 also! Besides increased resolution/retina display, faster processor, true 4GL network speeds (luckily up and running in my area), it will be very popular!
