Deleting Content

I spent some time, too much time, yesterday deleting content from the "my content" area.  These were all images that I have uploaded as a slide show instead of using PowerPoint.  I went to finish deleting the slides this morning, after three weeks we have a lot of image slides, only to find that they were still there.  If I use a song background and go to change that they disappear, but when I go to a content slide they are all back.  

I don't want to delete slides multiple times on Monday morning but just once.  Is this possible and is there a way to delete multiple backgrounds at once?

We are looking into ways of improving this feature. Currently, media uploaded to an Image Slideshow becomes available for use in Bible, Content and Song items as well.

However, removing an item from the library for a slide type only removes that media for that type specifically.
