cursor color

I'm using Proclaim on a Mac. The black background is very cool, and all, but with a black cursor in the black text box for the lyrics, it is really really really hard to see the cursor. So how do I change the color of the cursor. Because the arrow is outlined in white, I can see it. Otherwise, no. This has been an ongoing problem since the beginning.

thanks

Unfortunately we do not have any control over the display of cursors on the Mac platform. This is controlled by the OS on Mac.

There are 3rd party solutions for this, but we cannot guarantee that they wouldn't have compatibility issues with Proclaim. I would be interested to know if you are able to change this successfully.

    Thanks,

That black background can make the UI a little less clear under light conditions: we continue to work at refining it. But the dark background actually seems to be less distracting and easier on the eyes when used in a darkened auditorium. There's nothing like a brightly lit monitor to destroy your night vision!

One option offered natively by the Mac is not a different color cursor but a larger one (which means the helpful white outline will also be easier to see). Look under the Apple menu for the "System Preferences..." option. In the System Preferences dialog, choose "Universal Access" icon:

Then you can adjust the cursor size in the bottom of that panel:

As Hunter said, there are likely some third party solutions out there if a different cursor color is what you need. But perhaps just bumping the cursor size up a little will get you where you want to go.

Thanks for your help. Not long after I asked the question I googled the issue and found it was a Mac problem. I'll look into third party solutions next time I have time, which won't be for a week or so, and let you know if anything works. I'm using the church computer for Proclaim, and it's a new computer. So I don't always know what comes from where.

Thanks for the details. Next time I'm there, I'll do this. I don't know if I thanked you or Hunter just now, sigh. Anyway, it's a new computer at church, I don't know what causes what yet.

    I apprecitate the quick answer.
