Poor audio quality of uploaded videos.

This is my post regarding the noticeably poor audio quality of videos that have been uploaded to the cloud and transcoded by Proclaim.  No matter what the source, the audio seems horribly compressed, so much so that it makes it difficult for the congregation to hear any dialogue taking place in a video we are playing.  Upon closer inspection the audio sounds to be about 64-98KB/s and 128k is just bearable with 256 being preferred.  For now I have to use a Flash drive to host all of our videos especially our 5 minute countdown to worship, which contains music.  One of the reasons we subscribed to proclaim was to get away from the need to host these sort of things on local drives.

Yes, this is a known issue with Proclaim at the moment. Supporting uploading media from multiple formats and multiple platforms is fraught with complications.

We transcode all files uploaded to Proclaim into both .mp4 (downloaded to Mac) and .wmv (downloaded to Windows) videos. This is done because those are the only video codecs supported universally by Mac and PC respectively.

There is always some quality loss in transcoding, but we are looking at ways to make this less of a concern.

We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

    Thanks,

The quality issues of the uploaded videos should be resolved. Please try re-uploading your video and let us know if there are still issues.
