The twitter post is dated about 18 hours before I went to bed -- but it sure didn't show up then.

For anyone who can't wait on the CP there's always Saint Patrick on Vyrso. I'm still hoping they'll give us that one for free today. [:D]

I didn't know we had so much information on this person....and I thought he was a made-up figure, like leprechauns. [;)]

Well, unfortunately there seems to be a lot of opinions on that information (my bold):

"St. Patrick was one of the great missionaries of Europe and lived a truly extraordinary life. He was a Romano-Briton Christian, born in the mid-fourth century during the decline of Roman rule in the Britain. At the age of 16 he was captured by pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland. During his six years in captivity he learned the Irish language and culture. After escaping back to Britain, Patrick entered the Church and was ordained a bishop. With true love for the people of Ireland, Patrick returned to the place of his captivity as a missionary. He preaching the Gospel throughout Ireland for the last fifteen years or so of his life and died around 440."

"According to the latest reconstruction of the old Irish annals, Patrick died in AD 461 on March 17, a date accepted by some modern historians.^[38] Prior to the 1940s it was believed without doubt that he died in 420 and thus had lived in the first half of the 5th century.^[39] A lecture entitled "The Two Patricks", published in 1942 by T. F. O'Rahilly, caused enormous controversy by proposing that there had been two "Patricks", Palladius and Patrick, and that what we now know of St. Patrick was in fact in part a conscious effort to blend the two into onehagiographic personality. While Patrick's own writings contain no dates, they do contain information which can be used to date them. According to St. Patrick's Day lore, Patrick used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the Christian holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.[<:o)]

I think you had the Irish St. Patrick confused with the Finnish St. Urho whom we celebrated yesterday. http://www.sainturho.com/ They are easier to keep apart if you have a Finnish grandmother and an Irish great grandmother.[:D]
