assingning a verse in notes

Sorry to post, but I have not been able to find an answer.
I recently migrated from Windows OS to Mac. In Windows when I want to assign a verse in notes you simply highlighted the word/phrase, right-clicked, and a window appeared that allowed you to tag the word/phrase. I have been unable to figure out how to do that in Mac OS.
eg; when I type John 4:4 I want to be able to hover over that verse a windowed screen appears with that verse.
It worked in Windows. Is there a way to do it in Mac OS.
Hope it is clear. Thank you all for the help.

I am not fully sure if I understand… but I will take a stab. If I am not getting your question, try again!
When you add a note, you can add it to the reference, or to the selection. Is this what you were looking for? If you want the note to appear in all versified resources (i.e. bible translations), click "reference." If you want to just attach it to the word or phrase, click "selection."
Also, you may need to open up the note file that you want to save it to first. In my screen shot below, I had "Devotional Highlights" file open. If the note file you want to use isn't showing up, make sure to open it first.

Wonder if thread reply => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/44339/330542.aspx#330542 shows desired verse pop-up ?
Wiki Mac and PC User Interface Differences has => Feature Parity that includes:
PC Notes can automatically hyperlink scripture in notes while hyperlink can be manually added on Mac
- Logos: We presently use operating system controls for rich text editing on each platform. The functionality is not the same on each, and we are unable to hook in at a low level to enable all the desired features on the Mac platform. Our long term plan is to replace the OS provided rich text editor with our own component, but until then we are unlikely to be able to advance the text editing features beyond their current state.
Keep Smiling [:)]

No, no, no. This is not working. When i use my iPad I simply highlight the passage, add the note, and it automatically assigns an icon and syncs with my MAC.
I must be doing something wrong. My older (since the latest release) work fine. But when I add a new note now nothing happens. I cannot even get the little icon box to show up let alone get the hover box to come up over the verse.
What am I doing wrong???
Thanks for the help!

Right - Click on a mouse; Control - Click on a trackpad.
