Free Books for Logos

Please stop saying books are free when they are not free! I have tried to download these free books several times. When I start a credit card site immediately comes up waiting a number. Further, the book is then listed for $ 2.99! This is not free! Also, a free e-book does not require the use of a credit card! This is not free!

Vyrso books are free for a limited time. This page clearly indicates which books are currently free, and which have expired: http://www.vyrso.com/april

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug at the moment, so that some books that have very recently stopped being free are still showing up as free in the search results. As you say, when you click through it then says $2.99. I'm not aware this has happened before, and I'm sure Logos will fix it after the Easter break.

As regards to the credit card, I don't know why that's Logos' policy, but I can say you can be confident they won't charge your card without being VERY clear that they are doing so in the checkout process.

You will not be charged. Some books are free only for a very short time. The best way to find those that are free is to sort the books by price: Lowest first. Here is the list for Logos
http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=15&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15  and here is the list for Vyrso http://vyrso.com/products/search?q=&start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15. Input your card, and if you are charged, then cancel it on Tuesday. Logos has a 30 day money back guarantee. I have gotten many books for free, and once purchased something that I did not intend to, and was refunded when I called the company.

Oops, I didn't think about the date. At least I didn't miss any good books. Thanks!

I don't think that's good advice at the moment. Some books are showing as free in search results, but not free on the product page. As the checkout process makes clear, you will be charged for those books if you complete the checkout.

Mark, I just purchased the latest two, after reading your post, "Code Triage" http://vyrso.com/product/14712/code-triage and "Out of Control" http://vyrso.com/product/13624/out-of-control and was not charged.

By law, If a company is selling a product and they have two different advertising prices for the product, then the company must sell the product at the lowest of the two prices.

Therefore, if the products are free on the search page, then Logos must give away the books.

If you want to make sure you don't miss out in the future, subscribe to:

The RSS feed should only show books currently free (though if a book has only just changed price it might be slightly behind). The Twitter feed is an archive of which books have been/are free, so many of those listed on the Twitter feed are no longer free.

Some the free books show a non-zero price when visiting the mobile version of the Vyrso website from my iPad but show free if visited from my PC.

some of the free vyrso books are free only for about 24 hours, if that.  Any later and they cost you.  With the exception of a bug or something on a couple of books, they say expired over the freebie when it is no longer free.  I don't know whether vyrso books have the 30 day refund offer.  There could be serious danger of that being abused by people reading the book and then cancelling the order.  I tend to check out a sample of the book on amazon before committing myself.  I've had one or 2 disappointments with  vyrso books I've bought, but this has seldom  happened, and they have nearly all been very low priced books.  I don't buy anything not low priced unless I know I want that book by that author.  I do appreciate the generous flood of freebies on vyrso.  This has led me to buy other books by one or 2 of the authors.  Vyrso prices are normally below amazon prices, at least amazon uk - amazon us won't sell me kindle books, to my chagrin.  Bonhoeffer was much cheaper for  us than uk, so vyrso won out there.  And not all resources available in us are available from uk.  and I've wandered OT....

I've noticed if I search all the books, the sort low to high price, if I got them as a freebie they still show up as zero even after no longer free. It's different, but helpful. I usually bookmark the month's sale + freebie page at the beginning of the day. Then check back each day, so far I have not missed a freebie by checking each morning.
