Vyrso as a Reader Suggested Improvements

I love the concept of Vyrso as a reader but I need some improvements if I am going to stick with it. I have to admit the free books have enticed me to give it a real shot (Thanks!) but I just don't like it for some of the reasons below.

1) There is not real book mark. I realize there are work arounds, favorites, but I really would like to have a legitimate book mark.

2) Page numbers. I would love to see page numbers.

3) Night reading, i think that is what Nook calls it when you screen is black and the letters are white.  There are also others settings on the nook.

4) No clock, none of the others do this either but sometimes I can only read for a designated amount of time and not being able to see the clock on my ipad is annoying.

5) I see it mentioned a lot but an easy way to find Vyrso books. edition:e does help.

6) Highlighting

Ed - Wow, what a list! [:)] Some thoughts:

    1. Better bookmarks would be nice. [Y]
    2. Page numbers will not come. They are not in the original ePub from the publisher, and it would be too expensive to add them.
    3. "Night reading" as you say is already available. When reading a book, notice the "Aa" button in the upper right. Click on the "Low Light" option.
    4. The iOS clock is available. Gently tap the page to pull up the menu. The clock is at the top center of your screen.
    5. Better library navigation/organization is needed. Especially the ability to quickly show just Vyrso books. [Y]
    6. Highlighting is already available. Select a word or phrase and click "highlight."

Is there any difference between the Logos app and the Vyrso app?  I am currently using the Logos app on my Kindle Fire and am not able to highlight yet.

The Andriod apps are considerably behind the iOS apps. I don't believe that they have had an official release yet, but are in "beta." I could be wrong… I don't keep up with the "other side." [:)]

Yes and no. They both utilize the same engine "under the hood." The Vyrso app is a scaled down version, designed more for "just reading." The Logos app has study tools and other features such as reading plans, bible word studies, passage guide, etc.

No the Android versions of the Logos and Vyrso app do not appear to support highlighting.  For that matter, lacking bookmarks in all versions, I reported on a thread last night that the Favorites are also not present on the Android apps.

A further shortcoming is that the settings does not have an about to report the version number.  To find it, one must go through the Android application manager available on the settings menu.  This may be considered an Android paradigm to not report version directly through the app.

However, I have noticed that on both my Android and iPad tablets I cannot even tell whether I am reading Vyrso or Logos.  They are so close in features that it is very hard to tell without exiting and reentering.

My Android has the wider screen and I really like reading books with a Bible in a split screen off to the right.  With the Bible downloaded to local memory chasing the references is nearly instantaneous.

Vyrso is a simplified, less featured app. The simple way to know which app you are in: The Logos app has the research buttons on the bottom (Passage Guide, Bible Word Study, Text Comparison).

Alabama24 thanks for the help!!!!! You took care of a fair amount of items on my list. Awesome! Now if I had a real book mark that would be great.

Suggestion:  It's not that important and it's mainly cosmetic, but it would be COOL if you could animate the page turning like the Kindle App does.  [H]
