BUG: Unable to add community note from app
It maybe that this is a known limitation of the app which I have missed (I couldn't find the release notes on the private beta forum.
I have tried creating a community note via the app, as per the screenshot below,
Unfortunately, this returns the error message below,
I presume that when I add a community note, this should be visible in the relevant group feed in Faithlife (I have tried three different groups, Faithlife Beta, our church group and a newly created group, and have experienced the same results) and on Biblia.com. This is not happening.
I was wondering whether this feature should be working and whether anyone else had managed to successfully add a community note via the app?
Andy

Ah, thanks, Andrew. That is helpful to know.
It is the first time I have had chance to play around with the app and just wanted to check I wasn't missing something really obvious.
Thanks for the response.

No, this would be visible to members of the group when they visit the resource.
I just added a note to the FSB remark on Romans 6:16 from L4 PC (sorry, no mobile device here), allocated to group Faithlife Beta. Check whether you can see it, reply to it, generate another one from the app and post on it.
EDIT: to show you the difference, I have just shared two snippets from the FSB - one from L4, one from biblia. Don't know if someone has tested annotating or sharing from an app successfully so far.

I note that this is the same response to the behaviour reported on Biblia.com (here). Having thought about this a little more, I wonder if this behaviour is consistent with other social networking sites. Take Facebook, for example, in which there is an option to customise the level of subscription. I might, therefore, subscribe to 'All posts' or just 'important posts' pertaining to an individual's activity.
I wonder if Faithlife should mirror this and provide us with the option of viewing the activity of fellow members in annotating and adding notes to resources (obviously, appropriate to the community notes settings). If we consider the Faithlife Beta group, for example, there is a value in knowing that you have added a note to Romans 6:16 so that I know that I can go there and view it. Obviously, were you to add a note to a group of which I was not a member, I would not expect to see this activity.
Does that make sense?
I appreciate that in a wide group (such as the Faithlife Beta group), this may not be ideal (as activity updates could overwhelm the feed). In which case, I should be given the option to subscribe to all activity or activity pertaining to a specific user.
I would be grateful to know what other users think of this suggestion.
I will respond to your experiment separately below.

I confirm that I was able to view your remark attached to the FSB and respond via the app. Are you able to see my response?

I was not able to generate a new community note on either the FSB or the ESV Bible directly via the app.
The 'community' note tab, pertaining to notes attached to the FSB, is shaded out and inactive on the app. The community note tab is active when adding notes to the ESV Bible, but appears to persistently result in the same error message (although today is the first time I have messed around with Faithlife in earnest).
Thanks for your assistance with this, Mick. I do think that the concept is hugely promising.

Yes. I had responded asking whether you had replied via app or PC, but since you here say it was the app, I just deleted the question. Good that this at least works!

That's strange, since you could reply to another note, the technical connectivity seems to be there. Work for the developers I suppose.

I agree. I have retitled the thread to highlight that this appears to be a bug.
Thanks again for your assistance with this!

Just to update this thread as I am now unable to retitle the post.
Today I was able to add a community note to a Bible verse via the app and then view this on Biblia (screenshots below). I presume, therefore, that yesterday's issues were just a glitch.
Please let me know if you require any further information.

Just to confirm all is well: As I can't see a note on biblia or in L4, although I'm a member of Faithlife Beta group, am I correct to assume you deleted it after your test?

Very much so - Logos should definitely consider such a feature!
EDIT: On rethinking this, maybe you should write this up as a feature request and repost in Faithlife Beta, since it is not connected to the FSB and might get buried here.

I deleted it after confirming that it was visible on Biblia. On a related note, the implementation of sync is impressively robust. The note was visible in Biblia perhaps 30 or 40 seconds after adding it via the app. After deleting the note at the Biblia end, the changes were similarly reflected at the app end within the time it took me to close and reopen the reading view.

Will do.
Thanks again, Mick,
