I just picked up the Piper sermons and discovered that the following search seems to do an accurate job of finding The Text piper focuses on for a given Sermon.
(January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December) NEAR <bible intersect Colossians)
Once you've create the search drag it to the shortcut bar or favorites. Then all you have to do is change the passage to run a search for a different passage
