Is there any plan to incorporate topical searches withing Logos 4? This sure would make things easier, particularly with journals.
To explain it easily:
when u do an : 'All text' - 'Basic' with the search feature, it would be an equivalent to a "topic" search. I do not have any 'Journals' so I am not sure how that would work.

In thread => What is more useful in Libronix 3.0g ? (especially compared to Logos 4.5a) Bob Pritchett's (CEO) reply on 6 Mar 2012 => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/46104/346381.aspx#346381 included:
Fuzzy Search (comes with Power Tools Addin) (Bob says they're planning to bring this back; see here) Fuzzy Search will come back in a major future release.

A Basic Search of "Entire Library" also includes search of Logos Controlled Vocabulary (LCV), with LCV results shown in Topics section.

Hi David,
not to distract from your suggestion, but in the mean time have you tried some of these suggestions? Topical Search Suggestions
David,
Logos has not topically tagged most resources, so the best we can do is search for Large Text or Heading Text which will help find sections marked with the topic we are interested in. The LCV KS4J mentioned will turn up mostly dictionary and encyclopedia articles and will have way more than you want in the main section.
Put your journals in a collection , then search that collection and use the drop down menu 'All Text' to select Heading Text and Large Text. I don't believe most journals are indexed by Title (strange), so that won't be much help.
I agree a strait forward topical search would be great. I am not looking for a "word search". I would love a topical search, with a bible only option, something like the "Thompson Chain Reference", so a person could find passages dealing with specific issues much easier. Something like this should be included and easy to use even on the most basic Bible software.
Jeffrey, this is something that's been discussed since the beta days of Logos 4.0. In prior versions, resources were (apparently) individually tagged for topics and older versions of Logos Bible Software had a function called the Topic Browser that enabled one to search for topics quite easily.
We were told that the tagging of resources was often somewhat haphazard and that with 4.0, Logos intended to replace individually tagged resources with another scheme based on what it calls the Logos Controlled Vocabulary. Unfortunately that is still a word-based search system and not fully implemented as far as I can tell.
Many users of earlier versions bemoan the loss of topical tagging of resources. I wish that Logos would at least code in book indices where they exist in the originals and allow us to search those. Alas, I don't think we are going to see much advance in this area in Logos 4.
I should have also said that a number of good Bible topical resources are available in Logos format. For this type of topical searching, I put all that type of resource in a collection and search that collection and only the Large Text for the topics I'm looking for. It works well.
