New Monitor (TV) - Sony 55" LED HX850

I am acquiring a new monitor (TV). Because of certain medical conditions I must sit in a recliner, etc. to use a computer. I am app. 12 feet from the monitor/TV.

I was wondering what would be the proper video resolution to set the computer at. Of course, I would like as much detail as possible ...

Also how do I set the books in Logs to all display at the "same" size (with our doing each one individually)?

Running a mini-Mac
Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB

At 12 feet away, the problem won't be your electronics, but your eyes. Our eyes (unless exceptionally sharp) aren't able to make out 1090p at that distance... at best about 720p... (p = pixels per inch)... so I'd go for the widescreen equivalent of 1024 x 768.

Yes, 12ft is pretty distant. We have a 55" plasma (Panasonic) and use it with Logos from about 9ft which works fine.

That 3 extra feet is a killer. Not sure why.

However I notice now that I kicked the Logos4 settings up to 140% (to expand the scrollbars) and then moved the text size down a bit, 12ft is workable, though not pleasant per se.

I can't speak to LED text quality itself since we're using Plasma (wanted to improve seing from an angle which plasma does well)

You can adjust the Default Text Size in the Program Settings window (found in the Tools menu). You can also adjust the Program Scaling if the menus and scroll bars are too small. Of course, if you pick a low enough screen resolution, you may not have to adjust internal Logos settings.

The lowest 16:9 widescreen resolution supported by Win7 is 1280 x 720. (can't speak for Mac)

Sorry, Macs don't support program scaling. I missed that you had a Mac in your post.

Sorry, Macs don't support program scaling. I missed that you had a Mac in your post.

Actually, Logos added program scaling to Logos 4 Mac for some Alpha pre-releases then removed program setting due to bugs and other issues

Wiki Logos 4 Mac has => Need Logos 4 PC feature? since Logos 4 Windows can be run on an Apple Mac: natively using Boot Camp or in a virtual machine. Microsoft Windows license for use on a Mac is extra cost. Currently, Logos 4 Mac has a number of Feature Parity discrepancies. Thankful for awesome Logos Bible Software on many platforms, including Mac and PC.
