After latest update (install and relaunch) I can no longer get Logos to stay open. I have attempted to attach the logging.zip file. Any feedback is appreciated.

Kenny - Sorry you are having troubles. I am not really a techie, but sometimes I can understand the logs. I think yours is beyond my ability. The problem seems to be a malformed database:

    05/19/2012 21:50:06 | ERROR | 10 | LDLS4.Macintosh.OurApp | Unhandled exception: System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: The database disk image is malformed

Have you tried starting Logos with a blank layout? Hold the command key when you first open Logos until the login screen appears. If that doesn't work, it may be that you need to delete a file to let Logos rebuild it, but I will let someone else advise you on that.

Another thing to try for both of you is to turn "use internet" to off. I remember that helping someone else in another thread.

Looking in Logos4Error.log file shows two errors at 21:50:06, The database disk image is malformed is followed by Invalid handle to path "/Users/Kenny/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/py661pb0.9e9/LibraryIndex/index.dcm"

Wonder about moving the index.dcm file to the trash then starting Logos 4 Mac (4.5b SR-2) ?

Since Index.dcm is part of the Library Index, not know if Library Index will need to be rebuilt, suggest watching for Logos Blue indexer icon, can hover mouse for status.  Also can open Indexer.log file for detailed indexer progress.

Understand; one suggestion is enabling, then posting diagnostic log files (in a compressed archive) for Logos user and employee comments.  Hopefully the log files provide insight about not starting.

Could enable diagnostic logging, restart Mac, launch Logos 4 Mac, click "Sign In" if dialog box appears.  If Logos Bible Software 4 window does not appear, wait for 4 minutes.  If still no window, then compress log files and attach to a forum reply.  Wiki Mac Troubleshooting has => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac

Optional: download and use 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.

Optional: download and use Logos Log Scribe application to create a zip file on your desktop that includes your diagnostic logs plus a copy of console messages.

If using stable Logos 4 Mac (currently 4.5b SR-2), other option is contacting Logos Tech Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact (albeit phone lines do not open until Monday in Bellingham, WA)

Turning the internet off works. But, I am thinking that is not my long term solution. It does making doing some work possible until resolved. Thanks!

Do I need to upload any other logging file? And if not, is it best to call tech support today or wait for tech to post on here?

If you want official support, you should call customer service. Employees occasionally post in the forums, but this is not a primary means of official support. It is a good place to come, and often you can get questions answered and problems solved.

Did you try KS4J's advice above? NOTE: KS4J points out that the file is part of the index. If the index needs to be rebuilt, this would be a LONG process (but which may be necessary anyway).

Suggest call or email to Logos Tech Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact (could reference this thread)

Personally curious about Logos Tech Support advice; when a database disk image is malformed, the file needs to be deleted and rebuilt.

Appreciate workaround insight, which implies crash could be related to sync.

Tech Support was stellar and resolved the the malformed database disk image. Accessed my computer remotely, isolated out the issue, rebuilt or updated my library in about fifteen minutes and we are up and running.

Thank you all for your feedback.

It wasn't I with whom you spoke with, but thank you for the kind words Kenny!  We appreciate it. [:)]
