Move notes and highlights from one notes list to another?

I am trying to organize the notes and highlights that I have done so far. I didn't really start with a clear system, because I wasn't sure what I wanted. Now that I do, is there an easy way to move individual notes and highlights from one list to another? Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. The best that you can do is to have both note files open and visible in different panes, allowing you to drag one note into another.

Thanks. I am sorting them now. My system works well for my personal needs. I am a women's ministry speaker and am working on my first book. Not sure if it would work for someone else, but I am more than willing to share.

I have a notes file for sermon notes. I use a blue square indicator for these.

I have another file for scriptures that I come across that I would like to study further. I will type out a sentence or two that will help remind me what it was the intrigued me about the particular passage. I mark these with a purple square.

I have a file for scriptures that really hit home and cut to the quick. I will journal about what I feel God is trying to teach me in the notes section. I mark these with a green square.

Finally, I have a file for the book that I am working on and each one of my speaking topics each marked with a different color. The book is actually based on one of my topics, so I mark the notes for that one in the same color, but just with a different shape. I also have a passage list for each of these. As I come across scriptures that I feel are appropriate to my topic, but I don't have a note, I will add them to the passage list.

Then there is the file for the scriptures that I highlight just because they are so good, but I don't have anything to say about.

Heather - It seems to me that perhaps you may not need as many note files as you are describing. If you are using different color/shape note indicators, you can sort your note file by these shapes/colors. If you do decide to create new note files, you could use the sort feature to group your "blue square sermon notes" together to make it easier to move them into a new document.

NOTE: This method works for note indicators, but does not currently work for highlighter styles. In other words, all highlight markups without note indicators (the default setting) will be grouped with all other notes without indicators.

Thanks for the tip. I do think I will keep them as separate note files, though. I suffer from a severe case of adult ADD and the less clutter and distractions, the better. This way I only have the notes and verses pertinent to what I am working on to look at. If I kept them all in one file like I have now, I would find myself going down rabbit trails all day long instead of focusing on what I need to get done.

I am using the colors so that as I come across them as I am reading, I will know what file they are in without having to open it up.
