Over the last couple of weeks every time Logos trys to update I get "Update Error! An error occurred while installing the update. Please try again later." I have no problem installing new resources. Anybody else having this problem?
Welcome to the forums.
A manual install may be necessary here. You can find the current stable version at this link. Just download, open the disk image, and drag Logos to the Applications folder. This should fix your update error.
If you are on the Beta, you can find the latest version here: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LBS4MacInstallerBeta/Logos4Mac.dmg

Apologies: currently not experiencing this issue.

Wiki Mac Troubleshooting has => Update Error – Want to manually update (that also has stable and beta download links).
Keep Smiling [:)]
Thanks for the information.
Mr. Caviness- I have had the same "Update Error" issue as described in this thread. I followed the "this link" path and successfully downloaded the Logos4 image. I dragged it into apps as usual within the "file-to-apps" window. The new file was placed as Applications/_MACOSX/Logos Bible Software 4. The previous file is at Applications/Logos Bible Software 4. Should I be moving the new file from under _MACOSX to directly under Applications, thereby replacing the older-dated version (Last update 5/17 vs. 5/27)? Thanks- Jack

Did you double click and run the installer, or do you move the disk image to applications?

The application should be directly in the applications directory. It is curious that it was placed somewhere else.
Sorry, Bama, there is no installer, but it is necessary to double click on the disk image, then drag "Logos Bible Software 4" to the Applications Folder as indicated in the open disk image.
Yes, John, you should be replacing the copy in the Applications Folder.
I had forgotten that the Applications icon in the disk image is an alias to the Applications Folder on the active system disk. You should be able to just drag L4 to that alias icon. Just checked to make sure it worked this way on my system.
My bad. I guess that is what I meant. The disk image goes from ~120MB to over 300MB. and then you drag it to your application folder.
Jack- I elive I did all that you said I should have done. I am not sure how the file ended up under _MACOX, but I did simply drag it from there to Apps and it replaced the previous file. When I opened it I know it was the new file for several resins including my being queried if I wanted to open this file from the internet. The file designation is Logos Bible Software 4.5b SR-2 (4.52.0.2204). Thanks for your help. Jack
Thanks for your help. Jack
Pleased to be of assistance. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask. KS4J, Bama, and I will compete to see who can help you first [:D]
Need more help. When I drag the disk image to the Applications folder I get the message - The operation can't be completed because the item "Sparkle" is in use. Any idea what "Sparkle" is? How can I get around this?
Wonder if Logos Bible Software 4 is open ? Also wonder if blue Logos icon is in menu Bar ? Logos 4 Mac needs to be closed before updating application.
Curious what is being dragged to Applications folder ?
From open disk image, can drag "Logos Bible Software 4" to your Applications folder. Note: the .app extension may not appear in your open disk image.
Had problem. Followed posted link and directions. Poof! Problem disappears!
Thanks folks!

I love it when a plan comes together. [:)]

Appears to be a small misunderstanding here.
You don't drag the disk image to the Applications folder. Open the disk image and drag the Logos icon to the Application folder. See the screen shot in KS4J's post immediately following yours.
