I just received version 1.0.3 from the Amazon App Store as an upgrade. My initial comments from using my Kindle Fire:
1. Bible index blocks are too small and use a light font on light backgrounds. They should be enlarged and use a black font on light backgrounds. Preferably they should fill the entire Kindle Fire screen.
2. Bible text for low light levels are fine. However, for normal light levels the fonts are grey on an off white background. They should be dark black on a very light background for legibility.
3. Reading plans are there but one's own notes are not there. Our own notes are critical and should be implemented as soon as possible. Perhaps, descriptive tags could be allowed for notes so we could group and find them in related concepts.
4. Locating resources is difficult except by going to the history icon. Resources should be divided into: bibles, dictionaries, commentaries, other books. Downloaded books should be prominently displayed and separated from non-downloaded books.
5. Searches should be available offline as well as online. Since I am now at home and connected to WiFi I was not yet able to test this.
6. I like the idea that I return to the place and the book I left off when starting again.
7. The History button should be elevated to the top of the Menu items displayed since it now is the most important link to our downloaded resources.
8. When we pull up a new Bible, it would be nice if it opened at the same verse as the previous Bible.
9. My conclusion is that 1.0.3 is a huge improvement over 0.9.4. Keep it up lads. I can now use it in personal reading and in bible studies again. The only problem now is I still have to use AcroBible to see my personal notes and for offline searches on the Kindle Fire. Hopefully, that won't be necessary for too much longer.
