Whenever I create a new note or text in that note I get the font Athelas Logos which I don't want. I changed my font in my preferences but it does not seem to change the font when creating a new note.
Any thoughts???

I think this might be a known bug let me check on it for you though.
I checked and it looks like we are experiencing some bugs with the notes feature of Logos 4. They will be resolved in a future update.
Wiki Feature Parity list includes:
with reference to thread => Default Note Font that has a workaround (space bar, then backspace) to cause font to change.
