I was wondering what your purpose for the warm up is? I'm trying to figure out how to best use it for its intended function.

The only thing that I use it for is the count down to worship slide. I don't want the congregation warming up (they can do that themselves) - I want them settling down.
Similarly to Mike, we use the warm up to transition from the pre-service loop (in which we run notices of forthcoming events) into the service proper. We usually run three slides inviting people to take their seats, silence their mobile phones and then, finally, transition into the church splash page (which correspondence with the design on the church website).
This seems to work well and people appear to find it helpful. People do tend to hush as we run into the warm up.
