The answer is probably in the forum somewhere, but, this may be faster. how do I edit the songs in Proclaims data and then save them as edited??
I would love the answer to this as well!
Once you have saved an edited song - you will find it in the 'Reuse items' under the add menu.
This is one area of Proclaim where the developers missed a trick - we really do need a better file system.
In the meantime the only way to keep records is in a separate and stand alone list - and remembering to save edited songs with discrete titles. e.g. 'Just as I am' version 3

Songs in a group's song database are keyed by the service item title. If I create a song service item titled 'Amazing Grace' and add the lyrics I now have a song in my group's song database titled 'Amazing Grace'. Next week if I want to sing Amazing Grace again I can
a) use Add Item > Reuse Items to duplicate last week's 'Amazing Grace' service itemb) add a new song service item and use the song service item title entry helper to select my groups version of 'Amazing Grace'
If you decide you want to make edits to any already uploaded song you simply edit the lyrics in one of the service items w/ the same title and the change overwrites the version on the server.
Mike is correct when saying if you want multiple versions of a specific song you need to name them uniquely.
Something isn't happening for me. I added a song, All I Have Is Christ. I can re-add the song to my Order of Service if I "Add Item" and select under the Reuse ... most of the time.
I can never "Add Item" -> "Song" -> and search under the song title. It never shows up under "My Songs." Then if I start a new service and look for the song under "Add Item -> Reuse the song is not there.
What has to happen for the song to be added to my list of available songs? Do I have to go live with it in a service? What's the trigger that adds it to my library?
Shawn,
When you start to type in the song title the box with "My Songs" and "Logos.com Hymnbase" pops up, but you still aren't seeing you're song? In order to help you out I might need to check out your log files, if you could please follow this link http://community.logos.com/forums/t/39446.aspx and reply to this post with your logs, I should be able to track down the issue.
Thanks Travis. Here are the log files. But I think it has more to do with understanding how the system works. All I Have Is Christ is now in "My Songs." Here's the skinny. As I was working with the Order of Service I added the song. Then I opened up another service, found the song in "Recents," but couldn't find it in "My Songs." Went to the original Order of Service and removed the song. Went back to the second Order of Service and the song was absent from both "Recents" and "My Songs." Setup the song again in Proclaim from scratch and used it in the service on Wednesday night. Now it's in "My Songs" when I do the lookup. What triggers it to save the song ... On Air ... A snyc online? Maybe I was working too fast between service schedules?

Once you have edited the song you need to sync in order for it to make it to "My Songs", you can click the sync icon in the top right corner to force a sync. Unfortunately it can take a short while for the song to actually show up in my songs. I've seen it take up to 15 minutes. I have filed a bug report for this issue.
