Troubleshooting Song Text Display

I'm having trouble with editing the text size on "Great I Am". I downloaded the text file from CCLI and imported into my presentation. The text showed up kinda small, but I couldn't make it any bigger when I went to edit it.

When I opened it in the Customize screen, it showed the text size was 65, but it was much smaller than the other two songs (White Flag & Christ is Risen) I had already imported and had left the text as is (at 65). Whenever I tried to change the text size (bigger or smaller) the number would change, but the actual display text would not.

Anyone else have/had this issue? I've imported 3 other songs, and none have had this problem.

Hi Justin

One of the features of proclaim is that it does not wrap the text of song lines.

Most other software is not so considerate to the form of poetry and act just like text processors (they just break the line when the line becomes to big for the display) and hence leave orphan words and trailing hyphens all over the place.

Proclaim works on the principle that you want the line of a song on a line.

Check through your song for lines which spread all the way across the screen an insert a line-feed an appropriate place. Once you have done this you will be able to increase the text size until it is stopped by the next line to reach the edge.

Repeat as appropriate.

Thanks for the response, but that's not the problem I'm having. I don't have lines of text without a break (for example: one slide had only the phrase "the great I Am" and is the same text size as all the other slides for that song).

It just seems that the software wants this particular song's text to be smaller than normal. I've tried deleting that song, saving the file, restarting the program, then reinserting the song, but it still does the same thing. I then opened the text file to see if the font size there was smaller than the others, but they're all at 10.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm complaining, just listing all the things I've done so I don't waste your time with asking me to try something I've already done.

I'm assuming this is pretty uncommon. Thanks for the help.

and a quick test shows the first line to be the culprit

try changing both times they appear to

Before the power and
the presence of the Great I am
The Great I am The Great I am
The Great I am The Great I am
The Great I am

and you may find you can make the text a bit larger
