I am looking for a better presentation program that is affordable for our children's ministry, and know a church that uses this one, however I know that their department has wifi access.  Our building is old, funny shaped, and has lots of concrete that can deflect the two wifi signals from the kids area.  Would it be impractical/impossible to use such a program without Internet access?

It is perfectly possible to use Proclaim with out internet in the worship space. I do it every week.

You do need internet access - non necessarily wi-fi to download the program and to make the best of online resources. But once the computer has your finished presentation on board then you can show it anywhere you wish.

Internet access with wi-fi is need for signals and for some remote control functions but these are not 'necessities' for basic use.

If internet access is not needed to project a presentation, why does it take several seconds to advance a slide?  Yesterday we experienced the longest "wait" times in between slides.  Several of them took 6-9 seconds to advance.  If your presentation is loaded in RAM, why the delay?  We've also noticed that several times during service the green sync icon in upper right was spinning and stuck on red.  Any ideas?

    If I might speculate...

The 'RED' spinning icon means that there are still item on the server waiting to Sync to your machine.

Were you connected to the internet at the time?

I think that if you make sure that the sync button is green before you start the service you will not suffer slowness of slide advances.
