Stop Logos from Automatically Loading When You Turn Computer On

How do you fix Logos where it will not load when you turn your computer on?
Thanks,
Susan

Two suggestions, On Startup by default OSX reopens any windows that were open when the mac was last shut down. There is a checkbox on the shutdown dialog box to disable this. Also, if you right click on the Logos Icon on the dock (or two finger click) a popup will appear, on one of the options menu is a selection to have the program load on startup.

Mike, for me, Logos loads the little logos icon in the top bar as soon as osx loads.
Not sure if thats what Susan is speaking too, but think so.
I have tried to stop Logos from loading that, but cannot, I can turn that function off, but it turns itself back on and logos loads something in the background on start-up.

I don't believe that can be turned off… but it shouldn't be causing you problems. Do you think it is?

Just uses up resources, slows boot times. Its a " windows" type behavior.

Thread => Logos 4 Mac AppleScript Applications includes an AppleScript application to show, then can change automatic launch of Logos 4 Indexer at login.

I don't know but...
would changing preferences to "Use internet - no" not accomplish the feat?

Susan - Did you get your question answered? Did you mean the indexing icon that was referenced in this thread, or does the application actually open up fully?

Thanks, I wasn't %100 sure about the original question. I just restarted my macbook to see what this was about (It reminded me of how annoying it used to be to boot a computer everytime I wanted to use it). The indexing icon comes up on the tool bar for a few seconds then closes. On a late 2011 macbook the desktop comes up and is usable before this icon appears and the computer is still usable throughout the process. Once the icon closed the indexer doesn't show up in the activities list (or when I run ps under a root terminal window) so I think it only runs to check that the indexing is completed and then closes.

This shows how different people use their computers differently.
While it is necessary to restart Logos quite often (to update reading plans etc) I very rarely turn off any of my macs so the problem you may be experiencing never hits me.
This only came home to me when a couple of days ago I passed on a White MacBook to a friend and when showing how to use it simply said 'Of course you don't turn this computer off unless you are not using it for a month' he was 'gob-smacked'.

It shows the value of Apples in built dictionary and the limitations of the Hebrew dictionaries where I couldn't find it at all.

The Logos 4 Indexer looks for item(s) to download, discover, and index. If indexing is in progress and resource(s) are ready to download, then indexing is cancelled.

Changing "Use Internet" to No turns off downloading in Logos 4 Indexer; however discovery and indexing are still checked.

'gob-smacked' is not in the Hebrew dictionary? Did you create a bug thread?

Thanks for the tips. I right clicked on the Logos icon in the dock and was able to fix the problem.
