Learning Issues with Proclaim.

Hello,

My church recently switched from PowerPoint to Proclaim.  Overall, we are really excited about the switch and I loved the ease of Proclaim which was so much better than any other Worship Presentation Software that we tried.  However, now that I am learning to use it, I am beginning to develop some questions.  I contacted costumer support and they told me to post my questions to the blog, so I would really appreciate some help on this!

1. When editing the font in songs, there are great features under "Customize" that allow you to add a shadow, or outline etc. to your lyrics.  This is very helpful for many backgrounds to make the words more readable.  However, these features are only available in songs.  Is there a way that these could be available on Content slides?  I would really like to do more formatting to the content slides and many of the cool effects you could do with the words I would only ever use on a content slide.  I would like to know if this is an error on my end or if it is simply not available on content slides?  If it is not available on content slides, I would like to request that these options be added to the content slides. Thanks!

2. When adding a Bible reading, I love all the feature options like "Show Words of Christ in Red" and "Show Reference" etc. however, I was wondering if there could be an option to remove verse numbers? Sometimes the numbers are distracting and it is time consuming to delete each one individually.

3. Is there an Undo button or feature anywhere?   I love the autosave function but occasionally I delete something or change something and I want to undo it.  There does not seem to be any way to undo an action, even under settings.   If there is not an undo feature, I would strongly request adding that feature in an update.

4. We purchased a Graceway Media subscription about two weeks after purchasing Proclaim.  I like it a lot but I was wondering what our password is for the Graceway account.  I feel like we should also be able to log in to the Graceway website, but it does not recognize my logos password and login that I use to enter Proclaim which is confusing to me because that is the password used to purchase Graceway.  So, is the subscription not a full subscription or is there a way around this?

5. We are trying to use as few PowerPoints as possible but in our transition we are still using some.  Some of our PowerPoints have lost their formatting while being imported.  Is this just a compatibility issue?

6. Currently, our church is choosing not to use signals but the Bible readings and even any reference to a Bible Verse automatically add a signal to the slide that cannot be deleted like the other signals.  Is there a way to remove these signals?  My primary concern is removing the signal icon from the screen.  As we are not using signals, our congregation does not know what they are and the icon is distracting.

7. When going to Add An Item, I really like the ability to add old items.  However, each time we use an item, a new copy of the item is created.  There are many items that we would be happy to delete after a service is over but it seems impossible to delete an item from that list.  How do you delete items permanently from the whole cloud?

8. Our church using PlanningCenterOnline and we like the new feature to import plans from there.  However, when it brings over songs, it does not pull from our library from songs, only from SongSelect so we start over with new lyrics and then we have to start from scratch or add the song from our files and delete the song that was imported from PlanningCenter.  Is there a way to automatically select from our library of songs when importing from PlanningCenter?

9. Lastly, in regards to text size, I understand that the text is autoformatted to keep lines of songs however and I have learned how to divide my lyrics to get the size of text I want.  However, since Proclaim auto-formats the font down, I could have size 600 font under my setting but it would only be displaying at size 50 font.  Is there a way to view the actual font size that the words have been autoformatted down to?  This would be helpful in keeping font sizes relatively the same for all of our songs.  Right now, we are just eyeballing it.

I would really appreciate the answers to these questions!  Thanks a lot.  Overall, we love Proclaim and it is working amazingly! We would just like to work out these bugs as we learn how to work with the new program.

    Hello Emily,

Welcome to the forums. Sorry there's not been a reply to you yet. Stay plugged in. The forums are very active and will be a great place to get ideas.

If you have new features you are requesting, I'd suggest you visit http://proclaim.uservoice.com where users are able to vote on the features most helpful. Logos is listening there and making changes to Proclaim.

Also, from Google, you can search "site.community.logos.com XXXXX" (where XXXXX is your issue like, 'proclaim text size'). Google will search only the logos forums for a post that might help answer your question. That's how I found your post (I like your undo feature request. I've entered that on the functionality request list that you can vote for at http://proclaim.uservoice.com/forums/137112-general/suggestions/3396245-create-an-undo-button)

Not sure what you mean by formatting. I know a lot of the transitions and animation are gone. Proclaim essentially turns the slide into a picture and adds it to the schedule.

You've got some great questions and ideas. I'm hoping others can contribute.

Hello Emily, I'm sorry nobody got to your questions earlier.

Thanks!

Currently, we do only allow certain customizations for the Song service items, and not for other service items. However, if you go to http://proclaim.uservoice.com, you can upvote an existing suggestion for this feature. Popular suggestions on UserVoice are more likely to make it into future updates.

    2. When adding a Bible reading, I love all the feature options like "Show Words of Christ in Red" and "Show Reference" etc. however, I was wondering if there could be an option to remove verse numbers? Sometimes the numbers are distracting and it is time consuming to delete each one individually.

Again, this is not a feature we currently have, but please do suggest it at http://proclaim.uservoice.com.

    3. Is there an Undo button or feature anywhere?   I love the autosave function but occasionally I delete something or change something and I want to undo it.  There does not seem to be any way to undo an action, even under settings.   If there is not an undo feature, I would strongly request adding that feature in an update.

You can undo a deletion of a service item by pressing Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac), or by right clicking in the Order of Service area and choosing "Undo" from the menu. Similarly, you can undo the deletion of an entire presentation by right clicking in the "Open" menu and selecting "Undo".

Your Graceway and Proclaim passwords are not necessarily the same. Did you purchase Graceway through Proclaim or through Graceway Media?

    5. We are trying to use as few PowerPoints as possible but in our transition we are still using some.  Some of our PowerPoints have lost their formatting while being imported.  Is this just a compatibility issue?

Shawn covered this one nicely in his response.

We don't currently have this feature, but I would again encourage you to suggest or upvote at http://proclaim.uservoice.com.

    7. When going to Add An Item, I really like the ability to add old items.  However, each time we use an item, a new copy of the item is created.  There are many items that we would be happy to delete after a service is over but it seems impossible to delete an item from that list.  How do you delete items permanently from the whole cloud?

You cannot delete items permanently from the cloud. You can make finding items in the list easier by using the filter text box in the "Reuse Items" section.

I'm afraid I'm not totally clear on this. You say when you import songs from PlanningCenterOnline, the lyrics being pulled are from somewhere else? Or the songs pulled from PlanningCenterOnline are not populating your library of songs?

    This functionality is not available.

Again, I apologize that it took so long for you to receive a reply to this post. Do let me know if you have additional questions.
