Can any help me on how to back up resources in logos 4 as I usually back up to a external hard
Darren,
I'm not sure you need to - all Logos data is 'backed up' on Logos servers anyway. But if you insist, you should be backing up the following folder:
%appdata%/../local/Logos4/Data/
The standard installation path is:-
XP -> C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4
Vista/Win7 -> C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Logos4
It is worthwhile backing up the complete Logos4 folder as it includes your user files/documents, collections, preferences etc as well as resources and index.
thankyou very much , backing up now
thankyou,
The reason why you would is because you may no longer have internet access, you might be on a capped data plan, or you might be on dial up. We are in an earthquake disaster zone and believe me having an onsite back up can be quite useful.

Hi Dave
how do you stop Logos 4 from automatically starting to download from the Logos servers and to point it to the back up folder on the external drive?
TIA, Tony
You don't normally backup files until they are on the hard drive and there is no way to redirect a download in L4! If you don't want an automatic download set Automatically Download Updates = No in Tools | Program Settings.
I found a possible solution: see http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers
I thought you may have intended that to happen during installation, but the thread and your query were using the word backup!
