Proclaim Remote Control is Just too slow and often the Apps crash

Hi,
We have been using proclaim since late beta and for the most part it works well with our mac mini and/or our macbook air.
what has NEVER worked well is EITHER the iOS or the Android App for remote control. Since I have both and have tried for the past 6-7 weeks to get it to work from the front of our small church.
The apps lock up constantly (iPhone 4s, Google Nexus 7" and 1st Gen iPad), the remote often will not advance slides for any reason, or if they do almost 30 seconds behind the tap...
In addition, originally our "clicker" remote worked flawlessly with the program, but since about May, that has stopped working with Proclaim, though it still works in Powerpoint.
These are issues we would love to see resolved... I personally would like to see the remote apps on the iPhone and Android direct-connect to the PC/Mac running the software, that way there is very little "internet lag" involved.... if that is not already something that occurs....
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the remotes.
At the moment they are coded to go over the Internet, and to share code on iOS and Android. This enabled us to develop them faster and get them out sooner, but there can be a longer lag with the round-trip over the Internet. Our ultimate plan is to re-write them with more native code, and to connect via the local wireless network (if any), avoiding the "outside" Internet, for faster response from remote to screen.
Clickers should just send keystrokes to your computer, so I'm not sure why that would have stopped working. Do the keystrokes work on the keyboard directly? Can you post the brand you're using, and the desktop platform it's connected to? (Mac/Win)

I'm excited about the plans for native code and WLAN connectivity. Thanks! The remote control apps are such a great addition to the Proclaim software. We are currently unable to make regular use of them due to the reliability and responsiveness issues you highlighted above, and we look forward to taking advantage of a more robust solution.
Platform Details for Alpha/Beta Testing Reference:
- Windows 7 Home Premium x64
- Intel Core2 Duo P7450 @ 2.13GHz

A beta has recently been released. It doesn't support local WiFi yet, but that's coming.
