Video problems

I am experiencing trouble adding videos. Some times it works and other times all I get is a grey screen with 0sec and when I try to play it nothing happens. Both videos are .mov files and were set to run locally. Both movies play normally in Quick Time. Any ideas?

Which operating system are you running, Roger? Windows or Mac? If you are using Windows, we only support videos that play in Windows Media Player, and you'll also want to ensure you don't have any third-party codecs installed.

Ann,
Thanks for the info I was playing them on a windows pc. I have quick time pro installed and assumed that proclaim would use the QT player to show them. I will convert them to media player compatible files. Thanks again

What video formats does Proclaim support for both windows and mac operating systems? Is there a list somewhere?

Hello Judy,
There isn't a specific list. Proclaim supports the following for local media:
- Windows: Videos that play in Windows Media Player (we do not support third party codecs).
- Mac: Videos that play in QuickTime.
For videos that are uploaded and synced, we support a wide range of formats:
- H.263, H.264
- MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Xvid
- Flash FLV (Sorenson Spark and H.263, VP6)
- .AVI, .MPG
- .MOV format, .MP4
- WMV1, WMV2 - Windows Media
- 3GP/3G2
- MJPEG (Motion JPEG)
