For the Logos' Year of Faith, I am trying to centralize additional readings suggested by the participants and the references given in the base text. I've identified several features that would make the process smoother:
1. Have the ability to make the Reading List scroll with the primary text. In this example the CCC.
2. Have resources such as St. Augustine's Confessions link to alternative sources e.g. the text is available in the two editions of Schaff's Early Church Fathers and in a stand alone translation. I gave created links simply using the URL option after using the Logos link to navigate the Confessions. It would be best if Logos went through a hierarchy of sources so the link would work on the resource that the user owns.
3. Have an item be both a reading item (box to check) and a heading. In my test case I opted for heading over reading assuming the less precise reading plan served to mark the base reading (CCC) done.
4. A Reading List should be able to link to another reading list - if I could link to the Early Church Fathers' index reading list, I would not a needed to link to the general web i.e. I could push using everything within Logos.
5. It would save a great deal of effort if Logos provided a function to build the base reading list from references and footnotes. I hope that the Logos' Year of Faith proves to be a sufficient proof of concept.
