I would be nice to be able to download a sample of a book to your device as you can a Kindle book.

me too! I tend to download a sample from Kindle to decide if I want to buy the vyrso edition. Not sure about the ethics of that, but I do it. I buy lots of kindle cheapos, so they do get their money's worth from me...
