L5 upgrade page missed (only) one resource as already owned (sort of).

That's right only one, that's pretty good. And it might be a different edition. It said I did not have R.A. Torrey's New Topical Textbook. I actually do. Here's the support info on that resource:

LLS:23.0.3
2012-06-22T19:15:09Z
TORREYS.logos4

The cover is different on mine than what shows on hover on the web site, but there is only one resource that shows up when I do a product search for it - and that's the one I have (it shows greyed out on that web page).

So good job. Only one miss out of (my) 4,666 resources, that's impressive.

EDIT: I just noticed that it lists the NAC as something new to me, but I do own 38 volumes of the NAC series. The list says there are 40. So, I assume what's new are 2 of those volumes. Can I be confident that my price point takes into consideration the part that I already own?

Maybe it's too late in my part of the woods, but where on the upgrade page do you see that you own a resource?

They all look the same for me. Could you post a screenshot?

I just asked a sales rep the same question (I have most of JPS Tanakh, College Press NIV and Believers' Church Bible Commentary). He said my part-ownership was being taken into consideration, but to be honest, I'm still not confident that it is!

If you click on "New to you", it will hide everything you already own. If you've good eyesight, you can just look for the light grey person icon at the beginning of the row instead.

There's no such thing as "New to you", only "All" and "New to 5". Maybe this is a bug triggered by the fact that I currently own Catholic Scholar's (plus a ton more resources)

Make sure you navigate to http://www.logos.com/upgrade# and you don't have any stuff disabled in your browser.

Adding a count of new resources beside "New to you" would be appreciated.

+1 since have same resource plus wondering about new resource.

Maybe it's just owners of Catholic base packages that are hit by this. I tried to look at the Verbum packages, but they link to this very page, instead of a Verbum package comparison.

Given the hectic and last-hour issues of the website launch, I think Logos will fix this some day.

After careful consideration I decided that the black/grey dots were a javascript error. I think what's supposed to happen is that the column currently highlighted in blue is supposed to have black dots, whilst the other columns have grey dots. It goes wrong quite easily, however.

You appear to be on the wrong page (it looks like you're at www.logos.com/compare or www.logos.com/5, rather than www.logos.com/upgrade).

It's the same page (I used the link given above).

But they are tweaking the server again, maybe this gets fixed.

Actually I'd expect Verbum Capstone to be the next logical upgrade step for me, but until recently there wasn't a detail description and no comparison for this. Never mind.

I'm not convinced, it's too consistent for me when I see it. The dots mean something else, I'm sure of it.

But The upgrade page needs a legend.

No. Chrome with no activated extensions.

Just verified with IE8: same (but no black dots).

Should be what's included (black dot) in your currently selected package. Black dot: current package; grey dot: another package.

That does not appear to explain what I'm seeing.

The mixture of grey and black dots are indicating something different about the resources in GOLD. But what?

I learned earlier that the first book, Swete Septuagint Morphology is a completely new resource. Does black mean completely new?

I also see that the Grey dot appears to land on the books that are both new to me and new to 5. Does Grey mean completely new to me and 5?

I should not be guessing about this. The upgrade page needs a legend.

I would suggest adding  (New, revised and enlarged edition) to the Upgrade description to avoid confusion (I also had this issue).

I made this same suggestion to Marketing when I posted that reply here.

I believe that due to the server issues we experienced the last two days, we are not editing the content on logos.com until next week. I expect that the comparison chart will be updated with employee, MVP, and customer feedback early next week.

Well thank you Nathan R. Elson for posting in this thread.

I apologize for the confusion on how the Upgrade Calculator works (this explanation also applies to the comparison chart). The black dots represent the resources/collections that are included in the selected base package and the grey dots are what are in the other base packages. Their are two icons also, a circle with a 5 that indicates the resources/collections that are new in Logos 5 and a circle with a person that indicates that the resource/collection is not currently unlocked (in its entirety) to your account (see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/58176.aspx for a brief explanation on what that means).

If you want to highlight what is included in another package choose the package by clicking on that image.

The information in the chart is based on what is in Logos 5 Portfolio as a way to compare what is included in each package.

    • If you click the "New to you" filter the chart will only show resources/collections that you do not have full ownership for . This means their may be a few resources/collections that you own part of that will show up in the chart still; you still receiving an ownership discount for what you do own.
    • If you click the "New to 5" filter the chart will only show resources/collections that are in one of our new base packages that were not in previous generations base packages.

That being said, we are working to improve the functionality of the tool (as even when we look at it, the black dots don't always change with the selection right away) and adding more information to help make it more clear for users to understand.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.
