My Timeline doesn't populate

I recently upgraded to L5 and would like to begin by saying how much I enjoy using the features. However, when I watched the videos on "Using L5" .... more than cake.com and a couple other shown on YOU TUBE, I cannot get my timeline to populate with any information. When I go to <Tools? and select <Bible Facts> <People, places, things> I get the following message: "timeline is currently disabled because the necessary resources is unavailable."

As stated before, I have L5, Windows 7, PC. I have the following resources (as far as TIMELINE is concerned):

Intertestamental Period Timeline

Israel's Judges Timeline

Israel's Kings Timeline

Church History Timeline

English Bible Bersion Timeline

NT Books Timeline

OT Books Timeline

OT Prophets Timeline

................ and 2 more that I cannot remember/find the names of them right now. My question: What more do I need in order to access this material as demonstrated on the videos? I appreciate any advice. Most of the reason I wanted to upgrade was this cool feature!

Fred, the Timeline tool is in every package from Bronze up, so that is the first question. What upgrade package did you choose?

Second Timelines is a tool directly accessible through the Tools menu:

If you do not have this tool showing and purchased Bronze or higher, you may be missing content from a secondary download after installing Logos.

Close Logos and reopen it. That should trigger a download that can be of considerable size.

If that doesn't work, try update now or update resources in the command bar.

Thanks alabama for the quick response. Your answer is just what I did not want to hear. That being, I MUST spend more money and buy the Bronze package. Oh, well....wish I'd asked this before I upgraded. Hmmmm....Plan B.

I closed the program and opened it several times and used the "download update" feature. It didn't work. Thanks again.

I upgraded from the Orginal Languages package and I have the same issue with my timeline. Will it not work for me and do I have to upgrade to one of their current packages?

Not sure if this is relevant to the original question, but only certain resources have been (so far) tagged for timeline. They have been listed in the following post: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/58229/414438.aspx#414438

So my understanding is that if you don't have these tagged resources, very little is available on the timeline. (And if this is true Logos should be working hard to get more resources tagged as L5 was sold to us with the timeline resource.)

So for example, out of 9,312 tagged resources on my timeline, I get the following hits:

American OR America - 100 hits

French OR France - 75 hits

German OR Germany - 62 hits

Scottish OR Scotland - 24 hits

Canadian OR Canada - 8 hits

Irish OR Ireland - 7 hits.

As a resident of Ireland, this result simply proves that very little (historical) resources have been tagged!!![:(]

Hi Graham, I downloaded the logos 5 from the website, my base program was the logos 3. I had never upgraded it before, but when I saw the new logos 5 with its features , especially the timeline, I was so eager to get it and try it out. I do like it so far, just need to work out this timeline issue. I love libronix. What a blessing from God it is!!! As a pastor it enables me to dig a lot deeper than I normally would. Praise God!!! I think so far that most of the features work. I don't know if I like the sentence diagram. I would rather use Word. but apart from that logos 5 is a great package.

So if I understand correctly you didn't have Logos 4 and downloaded the free Logos 5 engine.

if so, to get the timeline feature you need either the bronze package or one of the Crossgrade options (see link in my earlier post for more details)

please note that discounts for base package upgrades end today so it may well be worth you calling Logos sales and discussing your requirements with them.
