Features

I am noticing that there are different "feature" numbers in the base packages. The silver package has 49 features and the gold 52 and from platinum up are all 53 features. Does anybody know or is there a webpage that list these different features...Silver upgrade is interesting and tempting. The question is what are the added features (list) that are not in the 49 that are included with the 52. Is it really worth it to pay 563.14 for Gold or should I stick with Silver at 272.67...is it really worth the 290.47 extra for 3 more features? I also realize that that there are 338 more resources in the Gold package Still trying to make a wise decision here...thanks in advance for your help!
Blessings,
danp

Thanks Jack. As I can see there is only one at the bottom not included which is the BWS Septuagent Translation...right? So that would only be one feature then?

That is the difference between Gold and Platinum
The differences between Silver and Gold are
- Bible Sense Lexicon
- Bible Word Study: Senses
Making Disciples! Logos Ecosystem = LogosMax on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Win11), Android app on tablet, FSB on iPhone & iPad mini, Proclaim (Proclaim Remote on Fire Tablet).

I had the L4 Scholors version and Logos wanted me to go to the L5 Silver for over 300.00. I looked at the resources and in the L4 Silver and the L5 Silver, they do not impresss me. I currently have over 3400 resources in my library.
I opted to go with the L5 Bronse and got 122 new resources for about 127.00, so thought that was a good deal.
Someday, I hope Logos offers the full engine without the resources to get all 53 features at a low cost, then I will update the engine. I am really interest in the Clause Search......

That should be the content of the Minimum Crossgrade.

If I understand the hard-to-understand plethora of emails, forum posts, and explanations-of-misunderstood-forum-posts, a simple engine upgrade won't get you the new data sets in L5. To get all the new data sets now, the minimum upgrade is Gold. To get all the new data sets in the future, when the now-officially-offered 'minimal crossgrade' is available will still be some kind of upgrade; I'm just not sure what it will be.
(The data sets to which I refer are these:
...I'm guessing the first four will be included with the engine, and the others will cost something...just a SWAG on my part based on how they are bundled and how close to an existing feature found in L4 they are.)
Don't misread me; I'm willing to pay for the new datasets...I'm not whining about that. I'm just trying to clear up some of the confusion that has beset me the past week or so.
If I've misunderstood this crossgrade/upgrade myself, someone please correct me, but also please congratulate me for misunderstanding the misunderstandible mixed messages...I was successful at that, at least.

What we are seeing at this time is the marketing promotion to get the product and more resources in one lick.
As a retireD owner of a software development company, I know there are not 8 Logos 5 engines to maintain...when there is a bug all are fixed at once and updated.....I currently have all 53 features, but all are not "turned on"....I have no doubt that later Logos will offer each feature for a price, perhaps 50.00, and the feature or features you want will be "turned on" as one purchases them....Logos is a very smart retail company....if you have 53 features and offer them for 50.00 each later, that would be a great marketing tool. Remember Libronix when you could buy the SERMON ADDIN? I would think each feature will later be an ADDIN....but that's only my software marketing opinion.....

One question I have about new features concerns Bible Facts--is that really a new feature? In Logos 4, Bible people, Bible places, and Bible Things are combined in 5 into Bible Facts. What's different or better?

If you want to see what's free and what's not, check out the Logos 5 Release Notes.

You are spreading misinformation. The addins were retired with L3. Logos has specifically said features/databases will not be sold separately (though some automatically start to work if you buy some particular book, like a tagged Septuagint for the Septuagint Translation Ring). What will be sold later is a Minimal Crossgrade, which will give all or most of the features/databases for <$100: Official: Minimum Crossgrade and free engine download are coming!

preface: i don't have L5
i was connected to someone who had L5 and they allowed me to browse thru L5 and explore on their computer. i did notice in the Maps section of Biblical Facts that when doing the Reading view (F11) that it kept the bar visible in the Reading view (L4 hides this bar when in the Reading view). i was disappointed in this. Because i use this view to do a screen capture to get an enlarged image of a map. The bar reduces the amount of map visible in the Reading view.
There seemed to be more info in the bar, although it may have appeared so because it was listed vertically instead of horizontally.

Believe you have it. Not sure that the free engine will include any data sets, however. Then again, you could be correct. How is that for clarity? [8-|]

I think you and I are in the same boat, Jack.
Fortunately, it's not sinking at this point.
