hi
The Greatest Book Video Series was working in logos 4.6
but they are not working in logos 5
could this be fixed
mick
I do not have that resource, so cannot test it. You said it is not working. Does that mean the video does not play or open, opens but does not play?
I am able to watch the video series on my Logos 5, and while in 4.6 I had to open it up as a separate window to play the video, it now plays in the panel correctly. I'm running it in Windows on a laptop recently upgraded to Windows 8. When it was in Logos 4.6 on my laptop running Windows 7, it would play the audio but I didn't see any video when it was in a panel, but if I floated it, then both audio and video worked. Any other details on what's happening Mick
I've got a good Internet connection, I've tried disabling my firewall just in case this was causing a problem,
then I did a test by disabling my antivirus software
it looks like it is trying to stream the data, after a couple of minutes I get a black box saying there is a problem
after two minutes I get the following image
appreciate any help or pointers how to solve this problem
I have got the original disc to these videos, I've tried scan in the command box but it does not find them,
I can't see the point of streaming data when I've already got them, all the need is version 5 to recognise resources on my DVD
am I right in that there is a 30 day refund if you're not happy with the product?
I'm sorry you're having problems with this resource. I'm sure it's not much consolation but I did just play the video you show in your screenshot (I didn't play the full video but played several seconds of it).
One thing to try is downloading the video before you try and play it:In the panel menu choose "Download all videos" The menu will change to "Cancel Video Download" until the video has been completely downloaded. Try playing the video at this point.
If that doesn't work you can try deleting the downloaded video (an option in the same menu) and downloading it again. Note that to delete the video you must first make sure you are viewing the overview of the resource rather than the video itself (you can't delete a video while the player is trying to access it).
If you still can't play the video I would love to see some logs.
Video streaming is only part of what's going on here. The video format used on the DVD resource is very specific to Windows. In order to allow video playback on Mac/iOS/Android/Web/Other we needed to use a format that works with these OSes. The resource data was changed to allow for things like:Not forcing users to download all of the videos at one time (downloading only what they want)Allowing users to play different bit rates of video on different devices without bloating the size of the resource (or the download)Allowing simple updates to the metadata about the video without forcing a complete download
I know we have a very generous return policy if you are unhappy with the product. If you can't get videos to play and are still unhappy with the product a call to CS would be beneficial.
