A hidden gem in the L5 upgrades

One of the hidden gems in the L5 upgrade pkgs of Gold and higher is the 2900 page work An Exposition on Prayer in the Bible, by James Rosscup. http://www.logos.com/product/3440/an-exposition-on-prayer-in-the-bible
I was intrigued by this title when it was produced by Logos shortly after I began using Logos. It systematically covers every prayer in the Bible, book by book. It sounded interesting when it was released, but I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of $159.95 on prayer.
I checked to see what he had to say about prayer in Philemon this weekend, since I was wrapping up a study in that book with my SS class. He had 7 pages of tremendous material on prayer in that book of 25 verses.
I am convinced that I will find lots of valuable material for all my future SS lessons. I'm looking forward to benefiting from his study of prayer for 50 yrs.

This semester (and the next? - I don't know what's next semester I suppose the same classes continue, I just keep on studying) I'm taking a class in RC prayer life. How does RC prayer and Protestant prayer differ? I have a bit limited knowledge here. (I don't believe that saints intercede for us to Jesus nor that we should devout days to saints, but Mary is different.)

Hi Unix
Please refrain from stating theological positions on these forums.
It is against Logos guidelines and can often lead to heated and bitter debates.
Thank you, Graham

Thanks for flagging this, Edwin. It is very easy, with so many resources at our disposal, to overlook valuable resources. I had not noticed that this was in my package and now look forward to exploring this further.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks for the encouragement! I noticed the resource but haven't had time to look at it yet. I'm really looking forward to reading through some of it. Have you had a chance to read any other works on prayer (Logos or not)?

I've read a really great printed matter which has a chapter about prayer: Following in the Footsteps of Christ: The Anabaptist Tradition (Traditions of Christian Spirituality): C. Arnold Snyder
There is a thread to discuss it: Lowered prices on individual purchases on commentary-volumes + 2 books that I've readDisclosure!

Ah so what is the difference between bible study and scripture study?
And why abbreviate to SS.

"Sunday School" class
also called "Bible Class" by some who object to having "school" on Sundays.
interesting side note: some of the first public school classes were offered to teach children how to read the Bible. Now the Bible is not very welcome in public schools. Martin Luther warned us this could happen.

Sunday school class makes more sense.
But is this what you had in mind Edwin?

Thanks for pointing this resource out to me Edwin! Based on this post, I created one of my own to let others help me decide if I should upgrade to SILVER or GOLD.

Sunday School. I've been teaching Sunday School classes for over 40 yrs. I always spent hours in preparation for the class. Logos software was a paradigm shift for me 5 yrs ago. I have been able to accomplish so many things with it that I would have never been able to do otherwise.
I now have over 3300 Logos titles in my library. My class never knows what great Bible scholar will visit from week to week. [H]

This resource (which was part of my L5 upgrade to Silver from L4 Platinum) - http://www.logos.com/product/735/dictionary-of-christianity-in-america
Gives this explanation to the term "Sunday School"In the course of the nineteenth century...Home mission societies established Sunday schools to educate unchurched children and distribute clothing, food and money to the needy. All of these enterprises represented a tremendous outburst of evangelical reforming energy generated by the revivalism of the Second Great Awakening.
