Proclaim Presentation Slow

Proclaim 1.08.0096

Running on Windows XP SP3 or Mac Mountain Lion or Mac Snow Leopard

All seeing large slowness during On Air presentation. No other devices connected at the time. Worst slowness is seen on an IMac running snow leopard with Motion backgrounds. Turning on transitions helps a little. Going to static slides helps a little.

Windows is by far the fastest of the 3 but is buggy in other ways so that we do not trust it.

Please advise on troubleshooting so that we can resolve this issue - Or is it simply inherent with Proclaim?

Could you expand a little more on what you mean by slowness? Are the videos/motion backgrounds themselves slow? Is the transition between slides slow? How does turning on transitions help?

Primarily it is the transition between slides and the actual selection of slides to the movement following. We also see large amounts of slowness editing lyrics particularily when in "on air" mode. This is on a 3 Year old Imac with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and 4GB of ram so it exceeds your requirements by a fair margin. I see similar slowdowns on my 2010 Macbook Pro with I7 and 8GB of ram which really makes me feel like this cannot be a hardware performance issue.

Should also mention there is a small amount of stuttering in the video on the motion backgrounds from time to time.

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011 model with a Core i7 and 8GB of RAM and the video backgrounds stutter in my presentations too. I'm not sure what the cause would be. It seems to happen every 2-3 slides, and not when the background would normally loop. One particularly noticeable background is when a bird flies across the screen... if it stutters, you can definitely tell it. On the more subtle backgrounds it's not quite as noticeable.

I have the same frustration. I'm running on windows core i7, 8GB of ram, and 1GB nividia gt525M. how is the program still lagging?! This is the recommended system requirement for the software but obviously not....

secondly, even without transition effects turned on, you need to anticipate at least 2,3 seconds for every slide change. hopefully they can make some changes to the software to make it more responsive...

No movement on this yet? Several upgrades and only minor improvement - we've had to do away with transitions and video completely in order to keep it functional and things still drag. Can we get some staff input here?

Hey everyone,

After seeing my friend's less powerful laptop run proclaim super smooth, I was jealous :P so I picked up my investigation again.

I found a simple fix and I don't have the slow chunky presentation anymore. It was a 3D setting on my NVIDIA video card driver that does "smart" switching of the graphics card when using different programs but it defaulted Proclaim to use the integrated video card. I was able to set it to use the "high-performance NVIDIA driver" and everything was smooth!

No Go at least on my Church iMac - it's a couple years old running 10.6.8

This continues to be an issue for us. We've moved to using all static image backgrounds and selecting between slides is still slow, editing lyrics slow, etc. When on air things become far worse. It's not specific to the OS version or to a machine as we see the issue on my 2010 Macbook Pro with an I7 and 8GB of ram on SSD as do we on the imac mentioned in my previous thread. There is no graphics switching option on the imac so that's not a fix. It's been well over a year and as far as I can tell very little response from Logos on correcting this issue.

I have had this issue for sometime on our IMac 2Ghz Intel Core 2 running 4GB of ram.

the same issues with edit slides in edit mode along with can't even edit in "on Air"mode.

has there been any work on fixing this issue. It's like the more people use Proclaim online the slower it goes...like on wed and Sunday's
