I just upgraded to logos 5 minimal crossgrade, expecting it to include the Timeline feature, but couldn't find it anywhere. tried using help but not helpful. anyone has same problem?
It looks like the minimal crossgrade does include timelines. You should be able to get it via the Tools menu. Are you sure your software has updated? You might try typing Update now in the command bar, or Update resources then be sure to restart Logos once it has downloaded everything.

My guess is that indexing is still going on. Until that finished you won't see the feature.
Mark is correct, at least that is how it was on mine. But it definitely has it and it is definitely amazing!

i tried update resources, and it did start downloading (800+MB), and logos restarted to install the newly downloaded resources....
but it is still the same. no timeline, no clause search...
and i typed update resource again, again it started downloading (same size).... and restarted, and still the same.
i tried to find out how to have the logos 5 start indexing, couldn't find the command in the help...
anyone can help me how to start indexing? thanks!

Did indexing occur on your computer? Did you wait until indexing was completed? If L5 didn't start the indexing, you have a different issue and should contact Logos Tech Support. What version/base package of Logos did you have before you upgraded to Min Crossgrade?
Edit: you could try to rebuild index for all resources, but this could take several hours if you have a large library.
no indexing did not start.
i had logos 3 gold. then minimal upgraded to logos 4, and now minimal crossgrade again to logos5.
You can try "rebuild index" in the command bar, but if the index did not immediately launch it sounds like you may have a problem that tech support can assist.
There should have been a bit of a download AFTER Logos 5 installed. That would include rebuilt resources to support the Timelines feature. I'd suggest you type Update Resources in the Command Bar, hit Enter, and wait to see if Logos finds and offers to or begins to download those resources. If it does, after it does, it will start indexing.
One other question: do you see the new resources that come in the Minimal Crossgrade in your Library? Look for the Faithlife Bible Study Notes, The Plants of the Bible, The Complete Book of When and Where.
i have done 'update resources' a few times, it seems like it is not downloading properly. it did asked for 'restart logos5' to install the resources, but indexing never starts.... a message says 'preparing library.... stage 1 of 3' did appear, but also just disappeared suddenly together with the logos icon in the taskbar. and logos 5 remains the same without the new features.
i tried also to type 'rebuilt index'. indexing did not start either.
feeling very frustrated, a lot of time wasted today. but thank you all for helping.
Some log files would help if you are having crashes. See: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and look for the way to activate permanent logging. Then run Logos 5 and if it crashes (or it seems the indexer stops) look for the log files, zip them all together and attach them to a follow-up posting. The instructions on how to do this are on the wiki page link above.
I have solved the problem by "simply" reinstalling logos 5.
now timeline and clause search and other new features show (before indexing starts).
also indexing is now launched and running smoothly.
