Hi All
i ordered my logos 5 upgrade and have not recieved many books yet. Is there a delay or something? appreciate any hrlp on this....looking forward to reading Tozer...hasn't shown up.
Monty, after installing L5 there is a second download with new and upgraded resources. If you have already installed L5 you can wait (some have said it takes while since the servers are very busy) or type Update Resources in the Command Bar and hit Enter. That will check for new resources.
....I have installed Logos 5 over a week ago. It must be the strain on the servers as you said. Thank you Mark
That wouldn't take. Week. Did you try Update Resources?
Which package did you buy?
yes, I did. I got the "no updates available" resonse.
Hi Alabama,
I upgraded to Logos 5 Gold
Hey Monty, is it possible you're looking for resources that aren't included in Logos 5 Gold? I note that the Tozer package looks like it is in Diamond and Portfolio but not Gold...
Here is a screen shot from the upgrade calculator. It has the little " new to you" head icon next to Tozer's collection. Am I reading it right?
Monty
Am I reading it right?
No, since you disregard the dots in the columns, which in your picture show nicely how the number of resources grows up to Portfolio. If you bought the package with the solid dots, you'll have all the resources from the top until "thoughts for the quiet hour"
The new to you icon tells you that you don't currently own it, to see which packages include which resources see all the vertical columns of dots to the right, you might need to scroll back to the top to remind yourself which one is which.
Can someone please help me to understand why does my Upgrade page say:
"You own Gold
You have license to 1,552 resources and datasets"
Hi Freed
You do own 1552 resources but they are not all in your library.
Some are interlinears that are connected with the bible that they are built on.
Some are data sets that you purchased with the move to L5 (note the 'and datasets).
Logos are tweaking the display so that it does come closer to something you can actually count.
There is another post on the forum and a reply to this effect in another thread if you want to dig it out.
I must have misread it...I thought "new for you means" -" new books for you. that would have been a great deal. Yet, the current books are reasonable priced. Thank yo Jon and all for the clarification! I love this group-Monty

You did misread it, but you didn't misunderstand. "New for you" DOES mean "new books for you." The chart has a number of columns… each column represents a different base package. The Tozer resources would be "new to you" IF you purchased the higher base package.
In the image below, I have annotated your screen shot. The package you purchased (Gold), is the one you have active. I highlighted the column in Gold to make it more apparent. The resource you were expecting to see (Tozer), is NOT in the Gold package (notice there is no "dot"). It is available in the "Diamond" or higher package. When you filter by the "new to you" filter, it eliminates resources from view that you already own, but still allows you to compare packages (which you may or may not be interested in).
Phil Gons"> JH, thanks for your feedback. The 3,903 is the total number of resource IDs in your license. Those resource IDs include (1) "books" that show up in your library, (2) "books" that don't show up separately in your library (e.g., reverse interlinears), (3) datasets (which don't show up in your library, but now can be seen in Help > About Logos), (4) collections titles, (5) addins (from the Libronix days), (6) help files, (7) base package identifiers, and maybe a few other things. We're working to tweak what items get included in this count so you end up with something more verifiable on your end. To avoid confusion, we'll probably hide it in the meantime. What we're trying to accomplish is giving customers the assurance that we are taking into consideration not just their base package ownership, but also all of the others items they own.

Thanks Alabama, that clears it up. But why are there books in the Gold column that I already own? For instance, the Bible Lessons International Collection (17 vols.) AKA Bob Utely commentaries???
The Works of Philo ?
thanks for your patiance:)
Monty,
if you hover over the icon it will tell you more about the resource and also the number of books and datasets you own. So it could be that you own 17 vols of such a collection, but Logos has 18 as the full number because there was a special menu or help file in Logos 3 etc. Sometimes this may be insignificant (and won't change your update price), sometimes it may be the missing resource that's the bulk of it (Keil-Delitzsch OT commentary counts 54 books and datasets, I own 53 of them but the one thing missing is the book that contains the 10 vol commentary itself). We all know that "volumes" is different than the number of resources in the library, and it goes both ways (for example you won't see RIs in the library).
What the website shows is more like this: Logos counts licence entries from their database. The selection "new to me" will have all those where the number of licences associated with your ID is smaller than the number of available licences for this resource set in the database. In most cases, the missing licence will bring you a book to the library, but not in all of them.
This has been discussed in some threads since Logos introduced the feature, and I believe they said they will tweak this feature to be more reconcilable to our libraries. I haven't read of any real error so far. But maybe you could post up some screenshots from the website and the library to verify.

Yes, I quoted that post above. [;)]
Monty– as Mick suggested, it will show a dot for collections which you own only partial ownership of. It would be helpful if they would have given a half circle for these resources (ala consumer reports).

On my page it shows a question mark for collections that you already have a portion of. You click on the collectioin and it tells you how many of the resources that you own.
I know, but it isn't apparent. I come from the school that says "make it easy." A half circle would be obvious to many people, and once explained, would make sense to most. Even better… it would be good if you could hover over the half circle and get your collection license info that way.
This is the symbol I am talking about: ◒ It is a variation of one of the "Harvey Balls" symbols.
I assure you that I am not being argumentative and can see your point that something better could have been used. However, when I saw your example the first thing that I thought of was a fairly poor review in Consumer Reports Magazine and would have probably related it to that..... But I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer either

Fair point… So lets go with this one: ◐ [:)]
